Hello! I've been reading posts, and there are actually quite a few posts about masseter reduction surgery too. I'm writing my personal thoughts! Ever since I was young, I was very stressed because my face looked broad. Even after having those surgeries, I still hear that my face is big. I had the two-part facial contouring first, and then had zygoma surgery one year later. Out of all the procedures and plastic surgeries I've had so far, my eyes and the square jaw + chin tip surgery are the ones I'm most satisfied with. It's been a year and a half since I had masseter reduction surgery. I had muscle excision. I'm currently getting Botox. In other words, the effect is temporary. Get Botox. My muscle did decrease compared to before, but I recommend Botox. If possible, don't do it. And I had non-fixation zygoma surgery. Along with fat grafting to the temples,, If anything, the fat grafting had an effect, and with the zygoma, I wonder if I even had it done. I really don't recommend zygoma surgery unless your cheekbones are distinctly protruding. Fat grafting is also semi-permanent, so it has to be done again. After all this, the side effect I've had so far is gum tightness. It's okay normally, but when I pay attention to it, the tightness comes. There's nothing I can do about that. I just think of it as the price I paid for having those surgeries.
