I had double eyelid surgery in January 2018! I originally had thin inner double eyelids, and I don’t have much fat on my upper eyelids, so they recommended the buried-suture method and said I didn’t need medial epicanthoplasty or ptosis correction either. Maybe because it was sedation anesthesia, it really, really didn’t hurt, to the point where I wondered if this was even surgery lolololol I’m the type to be extremely sensitive to pain, but there was just absolutely 0 pain. But I had been drinking heavily..ㅎ until that morning before going, so I got carsick the whole way there and was on the verge of throwing up. So as soon as I got out, I threw up in the hospital bathroom, and even on the bed while waiting before surgery, I kept feeling dizzy and like I was going to vomit ㅠㅠ I was really worried the anesthesia wouldn’t work, but once I lay down on the operating table, it felt cold and I got nervous, so the pain disappeared in an instant! They put in the IV, and at some point I saw something fascinating in front of me and briefly experienced something like a magical world? (it honestly felt like about 10 seconds?) Then suddenly I heard the doctor’s voice, and I could feel everything being done to my eyes (no pain at all X). I was thinking, ah, they’re cutting here.. ah, they’re stitching here.. and then it ended. Other people say they lie down for a bit because they feel dizzy from the anesthesia, but I had none of that, and I barely had any swelling either, so I just left the hospital right after surgery lololol My friend who did it with me had medial epicanthoplasty + incisional double eyelid surgery, so it took about 1 hour longer than mine and she had severe swelling too. She said the medial epicanthoplasty hurt a bit ㅠㅠ Anyway, even on the day of surgery I didn’t have much swelling, and maybe because of that my eyes look sooo natural now. I think my eyes looked the prettiest about 3 months after surgery. Now they’re almost about to become inner double eyelids, so I’m going to get double eyelid surgery one more time later ㅠㅠㅠㅠ sob. People say my eyes now look really natural and pretty, but when I think about how they looked in the beginning, I think that was the prettiest..! Human desire never ends.. When I first had the consultation, I said I definitely wanted a natural in-out line, but now I think I understand why people say to make the line thicker from the start. Please keep in mind that if you do it naturally, it can become too thin later ㅠ
