Originally, I had an average amount of facial fat, and I didn’t exactly have a square jaw, but my face shape did have a lot of muscle on both sides of the jaw.
I’m the type who gets really scared of procedures, so I thought about it for years, then finally took the plunge and tried it once. Seriously, my face felt like it shrank horizontally by a quarter lol
But while the reduced width does make it look slimmer, vertically it does look a little longer. And as expected with procedures, once you start, it feels like you have to keep doing it forever, and I’m in my third year of getting it. Rather than deliberately remembering to get it every 6 months, when I look in the mirror and feel like my face has subtly gotten bigger or looks flatter, I check the date, and it’s usually between 5 and 6 months. So now I can’t not get itㅜ lol These days, once I get it, my face becomes sharply slim again within a week.
But after getting it for about 3 years, I do feel a bit of cheek hollowing. Of course, I’ve also aged during that time, so I may have lost cheek fat too, but the tissue that had been held up by the jaw muscles seems to have sunken a bit from under the cheekbones down to beside the lips because the muscles can’t move. And although my cheekbones were not originally prominent, they do seem slightly more noticeable now. But I think if you gain something, you also lose something.
If I want this slimness, I think I have to give up the restㅜ lol
So these days I’m getting consultations about whether to add a little filler or fat grafting to the hollowed cheeks, but I think it’ll take me a long time to decide again lol
In conclusion, I think jaw Botox is good for people with a lot of jaw muscle and people whose goal is a slimmer face~
