Eye Surgery Considerations@eye-think

Review

1. Because of transportation issues, I sent a KakaoTalk message 1 hour in advance saying I would arrive a little late, and they replied that it was okay but there could be a slight delay. When I arrived, there wasn't much delay in the consultation.

2. Unusually, they had two CT machines and took 4 scans. The reason came up later.

3. First, in the consultation with the consultant, we roughly narrowed down "where and how do you want to change?" This is a place where it is recommended that you decide first, not "I hope the doctor recommends where to do," but "I want to do this and this; would it be possible?"

4. The director speaks very well and explains well. The reason they took 4 scans was to create a 3D model map of the face. They put it on the screen and, while drawing lines on the 3D map, explained everything: what shape my face is, how much is masseter muscle, how much can be cut, what degree of frontal and side-profile effect there would be, and so on. They also showed me the rough changes on my face with their hands. I was very satisfied with the consultation experience.

5. However, as mentioned above, here it's not that the doctor says, "It would be good to do this and that." You yourself can't just go in with "I just vaguely want to become prettier/more handsome." Of course, the consultation is still useful, and because you can get a complete estimate of what is possible to what extent, it's fine to have the consultation first and then decide before surgery. At minimum, you should have at least a celebrity photo showing that you want to look something like this. (Director said: Everyone knows you won't become like a celebrity just because you bring a celebrity photo, right? But we can design and draw lines based on that kind of image and shape. (Please take this only as the approximate feeling; I don't remember it exactly.))

So I wanted to ask whether I should also do the anterior chin, but I didn't get a complete answer about that... rather, I did get some opinions. 0. First, the current situation is, as if looking at a 3D map, the side square jaw is thick, but when viewed from the front, it isn't a shape that spreads out widely. The masseter muscle is wide and thick, so if masseter muscle resection is done together, there could be an effect. (They marked all the millimeters on the map and showed me.) 1. Since my philtrum is on the shorter side, having the end of the lower face slightly wider may feel more open. 2. If I want it a bit more V-shaped, I can later put a little filler in the chin tip. 3. They can extend the line a little more toward the anterior chin and do a long-curved mandibular angle reduction. (There was an explanation of the long-curved mandibular angle reduction for this part.) 4. Also, shaving a little on the anterior chin side isn't a big problem, so it's something I can think about even after doing square jaw surgery. I received a lot of rich opinions like these. They seem to be someone who values the patient's opinion a lot.

6. I'm not sure whether I should be happy (because there are many possible options) or not happy (because that means my jaw is in that bad a state), but my huge lower face really seems to be a case where almost anything can be done. The director said: The nerve line is also very high, so the distance down to the lower part is 3 (or was it 4?) cm, and cutting all of that is nonsense in the first place. (I understood it with the nuance that separating about 3 cm of bone from the jaw could cause problems in the actual human body.) If cutting less than that, whether going through the ear, through the mouth, or whatever, it doesn't matter; whether setting the mandibular angle under the ear higher or lower, basically any way is possible; whether sedation or general anesthesia, either should be fine. What's important is the rough blueprint of "how you want to change." Well, whatever I do, it will probably be better than the current state. Apparently my square jaw was a blank white canvas... What kind of jaw do I want? Since I was just vaguely unhappy with this, I need to think about it some more...

Estimate: 1. Intraoral square jaw 4.6 million won; if done together with muscle resection, +1.1 million won; hospitalization fee 150,000 won separate (if done through the mouth, a drain and one day of hospitalization are needed) 2. If going from behind the ear, square jaw 3.6 million won; muscle 1.1 million won

And there was no deposit. Zero pressure to book or add surgeries. It seems they do one surgery in the morning and one in the afternoon, so their schedule itself seems full.

I'm thinking about it now... I'm really leaning toward this place. It does cost a bit more, but considering it's facial contouring, this side may actually be the normal one. I'm torn...
