After my first and second nose surgeries, I felt like my nasal tip got lower over time, and I didn’t like the overall shape of my nose eitherㅠㅠ I wanted a nose that was naturally glamorous while raising the whole nose just a little, and normally my face looked flat and my chin looked a bit protruded? That kind of face shape, so my side profile was a complex for me, which is why I decided on surgeryㅜㅜ
The director accurately caught the parts I was concerned about and recommending paranasal augmentation too was such a godsend lol They said my midface was too sunken, which made my chin look protruded.. So since I was getting revision rhinoplasty, I ended up doing paranasal augmentation together too haha
Because I wanted to raise my nasal tip clearly, I had surgery with silicone and autologous costal cartilage, I did 2.5 mm for the nasal bridge, 5 mm for the nasal tip, and 5 mm for the paranasal area (silicone) They say paranasal augmentation usually uses around 4-5 mm on average, and I think it was just right!
On the first day, the pain in the nose and paranasal surgery areas wasn’t that severe, but the incision area where they had to harvest the autologous costal cartilage hurt so much..ㅠㅠ It hurt when breathing too… if I coughed, it was seriously death.. It hurt so much when moving tooㅠㅠㅠ.. It hurt like when you fracture a ribㅠ
Around days 3-4, the swelling was at its peak, so I was shocked lololol Until day 2 it hadn’t swollen much, so I thought I wouldn’t swell a lot lololol I let my guard down.. It swelled hugely, so I walked a lot and drank a lot of pumpkin juice
For three days, because of the cotton inside my nose, breathing through my mouth was hard and frustrating, but on day 3 they finally removed the cotton from inside my nose Who knew breathing through my nose could be such a happy thing..
Around day 5, the swelling went down a bit like a lie On days 3-4, I was so swollen that I could barely open my eyes and tears kept coming, but from day 5 the swelling gradually moved downward, and green and yellow bruises also slowly started appearing
On day 6, I removed the stuffy splint When removing the splint, it hurt more than I expected.. a heavy aching feeling..? But as soon as it came off, the whole world felt so refreshing~ After removing the splint, they also removed the stitches on the outside of my nose
After the splint was removed, the director checked whether the surgery went well, and said it went very well, so I felt relieved haha
And they removed the dead skin cells that had built up because of the splint through scrub care, so it felt so, so refreshing. It was like finally getting a satisfying scratch on the areas that had been itchy for days
From the day after removing the splint, it was amazing to see the swelling go down rapidly in real time.. I think my side line looks prettier too, and my friends say the surgery seems to have gone well The swelling is still pretty heavy around the philtrum area, so my expressions are a bit awkward, but I’m really satisfied with my side profile, so I keep looking only at my side profile lololol
The pain where the costal cartilage was harvested has decreased a little too, so there’s no discomfort in daily life, but it still hurts The intraoral incision from the paranasal augmentation also hasn’t been very uncomfortable since around day 5. For the paranasal area, until day 3 I couldn’t brush my teeth properly, so even after using mouthwash it felt really unpleasant And the area where the paranasal silicone was placed hurts so much when I smile that I can’t really smile well hehe I think this will get better with time haha
Comparing before and after, the dimensionality has definitely come back, so I’m really satisfied. People around me also say my image has changed a lot and that I look more refined, so I feel good lol
There aren’t many reviews of paranasal augmentation done with silicone, so I thought a lot about whether to do the surgery or not. If you’re curious about anything, ask lol I’ll tell you
