Day 4 review of facial contouring

Hello! I only had one type of facial contouring, and it has been 4 days since my chin reduction and advancement surgery

On the day of surgery) My surgery was at 10 a.m., so I ate everything I wanted until midnight the night before and fasted after that. At the hospital I washed my face, had one more consultation with the director, changed clothes, and went straight to the operating room! After the pre-op preparations, the anesthesiologist came in, put on my oxygen mask, and told me to take a deep breath. I passed out in 2 seconds, and when I woke up I was in the recovery room General anesthesia is kind of amazing

When I looked up other reviews before surgery, people said their throats hurt a lot when they woke up from anesthesia, so I was worried. But for me, my throat actually hurt less than I expected, and the incision area inside my mouth hurt so much I vaguely remember being half asleep and complaining to my mom that my mouth hurt the whole time After about an hour after surgery, the pain inside my mouth improved a lot and it was just a throbbing ache. Once I was fully awake and my mind came back, the nurse told me that instead of just lying still, I should go to the bathroom and walk around, so they switched the IV stand to one with wheels. I walked a little, then sat there spacing out and using my phone, then lay down again. After about an hour or two, they said I could be discharged, so I went home!

Since it was the first day, there was almost no swelling in my face. I kept doing ice compresses until dinner after I got home, then fell asleep around midnight.

Day 2) The swelling definitely went up a little compared with the day before!! My body was fine through the first day, but starting on the second day my throat was swollen too, and every time I swallowed saliva it felt like my throat was going to tear, so it was really hard I finally understood why everyone said the throat pain was the hardest part And my face felt hot and my body got bad like I had a cold, so I couldn’t even go for a walk and just stayed lying down while doing cold and warm compresses all day

Day 3) My body is not the type to swell easily anyway, and even through Day 2 it was just a little puffiness like I had gained a bit of flesh, so I wasn’t worried. But from Day 3 on, I was completely puffy and looked like a toad큐 Even my throat was so swollen that moving my neck was hard, and eating, gargling, and moving my mouth were all really difficult. Still, I ate well and worked hard at it. At first I thought that since I was having surgery, I’d eat less and diet too, but I was so hungry that it wasn’t possible So on the first day I only had plain rice porridge, but on the second day I boiled bibim-myeon, cut it into pieces about 3 cm? and scooped it up with a spoon, and I also went to Bonjuk and had jjamppong porridge. Since I only had surgery on my chin, I could open my mouth about two fingers wide and chewing wasn’t a problem, so from the second day I ate regular meals! To add protein too (excuse), in the evening I mashed jangjorim, mixed it with rice and broth, and ate it with chive kimchi. Considering how bad I felt, I think I spent the daytime fairly well. But from evening on, my face got even more swollen and my throat kept hurting more and more, so it was really hard

Day 4) Today is finally Day 4, but why is time moving so slowly..? Still, the swelling peaked yesterday, and now I think it’s going down little by little? (maybe it’s just in my head) Originally I was supposed to go to the hospital tomorrow to take off the tape, but I misunderstood and went today. Since I was already there, they said they would remove the tape, but I said I’d rather do it tomorrow, so I just got the swelling laser treatment and came home! In reviews from other hospitals, they also do masks and provide oxygen therapy and radiofrequency treatment and all sorts of things, but for me they only did the swelling laser treatment (just a board with a light bulb shining on my face for about 3 minutes) and there were no other treatments.. sob I’m worried that if I remove the tape tomorrow, the swelling below will get worse, but it feels so tight and stuffy that I want to take it off quickly

Also, before surgery I was really worried about side effects, and as expected, my lower teeth feel extremely tight right now, the whole lower jaw feels numb, there is heat, and it feels tingly and refreshing.. I’m so worried that there might be some other problem Is this normal...? And I don’t know if it’s because of the swelling, but the flesh around my mouth has sagged down a little like a bulldog. I’m worried whether it will be okay once the swelling goes down And also, they first said they would remove the dissolvable stitches in my mouth after 2 weeks, but when I went to the hospital today they said they’d just remove them after 1 week. Is that okay..? They keep giving me different dates for stitch removal, so I’m worried it might be too early to take them out.. I’d appreciate it if others could leave comments saying when yours were removed

That’s all for now!! I’ll post another update later about how things are going~~~!~!!
