I had these 3 things done: nasal bridge, dorsum of the nose, and nasal alar base/nostril wings. I live outside Seoul, so without having even one consultation at a plastic surgery clinic, I looked online, went to a place with good reviews, consulted directly with the consultant, and scheduled the surgery date. I had no idea about the surgical method at all. Since I had absolutely no knowledge about plastic surgery, I just thought it was a large hospital and did not worry much. They had an anesthesiology specialist on-site, and there seemed to be about 18 specialists. By department. First, before surgery, I briefly told the doctor in charge that I wanted these 3 things: nasal bridge, dorsum of the nose, and nasal alar base/nostril wings (wide nose). When I said I wanted to raise the nasal bridge somewhat high, they said my eyes could look closer together, so I asked them to do it within the range where they would not look close together. It is now day 6 after surgery. What I am curious about is, for areas like the dorsum of the nose or nasal bridge, shouldn't they insert ear cartilage or costal cartilage? But when I came home and checked my body, there were no marks from harvesting my cartilage, not only from my ear but also from my chest and elsewhere. There were no harvest marks behind my ear either. When surgery is over, shouldn't the doctor come and explain, "The surgery was done this way"? I went to the hospital the day before yesterday to have foreign material removed, but I came back without even seeing the doctor. I keep having questions because my nose is blocked and I cannot sleep. At first I wondered if this was normal. It is frustrating. Tomorrow will be one week, but the nasal blockage is still the same. Since I breathe through my mouth, only my throat gets dry. I cannot sleep properly. Also, the splint's adhesion has weakened, and now the splint is almost detached. Is the function of the splint simply to protect the nose in case of contact? It bothers me. I would appreciate comments from people with experience. Thank you
