I had Wonder Canthoplasty on October 8. Up until now, I had lived without ever thinking my eyes were too short horizontally. Then while watching makeup videos on YouTube, I realized my eye length was short, and after searching for lateral canthoplasty I found Answer Plastic Surgery’s Wonder Canthoplasty. I have a very open front canthoplasty, so the back part felt a bit cramped and my outer eye corners looked raised, which made me look intense. I was more interested in Wonder Canthoplasty, which combines lateral canthoplasty and lowering the outer eye corners. They said it uses local anesthesia and recovery is fast, so because of work I didn’t look anywhere else. My desired surgery date was during a holiday break, so I paid the reservation deposit first, went for a consultation, and had surgery shortly after. The surgery took exactly 30 minutes. I also have a body type that doesn’t swell easily, but I really barely swelled at all. I took five days off, including the weekend and holiday break with two days of annual leave, and honestly it felt like a waste because there was so little swelling and no obvious sign I had surgery. Especially since the incision marks were almost invisible, nobody would know unless I told them. I think even if I had surgery on a Friday and took the weekend off, it would be fine. When they removed the stitches and checked the progress, they said my horizontal eye length had gone from 2.5 cm to 2.8 cm, and I’m satisfied. Other people might not notice much of a change, but to me my eyes definitely feel a little more open and the outer corners have come down, so my expression seems a bit softer.
