I had surgery in August of last year, and the surgery I still regret most in my life is facial liposuction performed by Director Yoo Hyun-jae. Not only on the day of surgery, but also the day after surgery, the swelling was unbelievably severe, and that swelling lasted three months. It was more severely swollen than people who had facial contouring surgery, and I don’t even have a lot of facial fat originally. I’m thin with very low body fat, but I wonder if the cause was that the cheekbone-area liposuction was done too aggressively. It wasn’t just that there was no effect; I was so severely swollen that I couldn’t eat and couldn’t open my mouth, and the clinic just kept repeating, “Wait six months.” For six months, I couldn’t have a social life and had to wear only a mask when going out. I developed depression and social anxiety, and every single day I resented the director to the point of thinking about suicide. But when I went to see the director, he said there was individual variation and that he had nothing more to say, kept sighing deeply, and didn’t even seem to want to look at my face. It is the moment I regret most in my life, and I suppose I should blame myself for not doing enough consultations before getting surgery. If there’s anything I gained, it’s a lesson? Even for one small surgery, go somewhere that is truly good at it. In the end, I did reach a settlement with the clinic, but even now, more than a year later, I still have side effects. Please run away.
