This was my first eye surgery. Since I’m a man, I don’t like having visible double eyelids, so I wanted inner double eyelids and had the surgery for that.
I didn’t know much about double-eyelid surgery, so I went with what the clinic’s consultant recommended.
After the surgery, there was almost no swelling, and after one week I had the stitches removed and could wash my face starting the next day.
Before surgery, since I’m a bit older, my eyelids had sagged a little and folds like thick double eyelids had formed. That was why I had the surgery, and after doing it, the folds definitely disappeared. Even just one week after surgery, the inner double eyelids had already settled, so it didn’t look awkward or anything, and since I had ptosis correction done together, my eyes definitely became clearer and more defined.
After getting the stitches removed one week later, I’ve just been living without doing any particular care.
People say that post-surgery swelling depends on the surgery time, the surgical technique, and how much the doctor manipulates the tissues during surgery (excluding individual characteristics), and in that aspect, they definitely seem to be good at it^^
Two weeks later, I felt a pimple-like lump near the outer corner of my eye and went in. They said it was a type of scar tissue caused by the knot from surgery, but it wasn’t large, and it didn’t show when I opened my eyes, so they said it would go away over time, or even if it remained, it wouldn’t matter. So I did visit once for that.
Other than that, I haven’t gone to the clinic, and maybe because it turned out well, I didn’t really have any questions.
Oh right! I’m sure many people have had eye surgery at least once, but for those who still haven’t had it, here’s a tip.
If you don’t want sausage eyes, don’t take unnecessary risks, and I think it’s right to go with a thin line. After that, depending on how quickly the line becomes an inner double eyelid or whether it stays as it is, you can decide for yourself whether to have revision surgery or just maintain it as it is, which I think would be good.
I do feel like some people constitutionally tend to get sausage eyes. Of course, the doctor’s surgical skill is the top priority too.
Also, avoid smoking and drinking for one month after surgery. I had incisional surgery, and for the double-eyelid line, after surgery the clinic prescribed ophthalmic ointment, and I only had to apply that for one week.
Sometimes there are people who apply ointment for 1-2 months after incisional surgery, but if it’s not ophthalmic ointment, you have to be careful if it gets into your eyes.
