A total of 4 places / I even made a reservation, then canceled it and am thinking it over again... Recommendations from acquaintances (ㅇㅇㄴㅋ, ㅋㅅㅌ - not from a friend, but from a friend of an acquaintance) The others were places I found through searching in a community and went to because people said they examined things carefully (ㅋㄹ, ㅇㄴㅂ)
I was thinking, should I just do it where my friend did it... but people said I should visit at least 4 places, so I changed my mind and decided to look into it thoroughly. I watched about 30 YouTube videos and spent days wondering what exactly should be done to my eyes, but I think going to clinics and getting doctors’ opinions is faster haha Personally, I feel more at ease with clinics where the doctor talks with me for a long time rather than the consultation manager. And I think the discount depends on how you negotiate *** I referred to community notice posts before going, and when I talked well and asked for more price discounts, there were places that gave me additional discounts too!
(Results from going around for consultations..) I had made up my mind on the incisional method, but the place I visited today brought up a forehead lift, so the cost became twice as high as the budget I had in mind... It made me wonder whether I really need to spend this much money, so my urge to get double eyelid surgery has cooled down a bit... I have a reservation at ㅅㅇㅇ tomorrow, and I think I’ll decide after going there too ㅠ
=== In order of consultations / I’m adding the doctors’ age range because it may help as a reference for experience? level
ㅇㅇㄴㅋ 2.7 million won / incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty Looked to be in their 30s to early 40s - They said my eyes obviously need incision - Seemed like the type to explain sufficiently when asked! - Went for consultation twice... (After hearing at ㅋㅅㅌ that I should do non-incisional, I got unsure and went again) - The consultation manager wasn’t too young and was someone who did a moderate amount of sales talk and explained things well, so I had almost leaned toward this place - A close friend did it here, and her eyes ended up with a thin line that doesn’t look too obviously operated on (her upper eyelids are a bit puffy, but her original eyes were like that too), so that was part of what made me decide I should get double eyelids...
ㅋㅅㅌ 1.7 million won / non-incisional fat removal + epicanthoplasty Looked to be in their early 40s - They said non-incisional (partial incision) was possible. I got persuaded by the consultation manager’s sales talk (lines like only our director can remove as much fat as possible from the outer end of the eye, etc. b) Hearing that non-incisional was possible, I ended up making a reservation in the moment, but it felt too hasty so I canceled... lost the 100,000 won reservation fee~ - Surgery scheduling was possible really quickly. I went for consultation on Monday and they immediately set me up for Saturday afternoon
ㅋㄹ They only do non-incisional, so I had just a 5-minute consultation and came out - They advised me to do incision - For reference, they said their eyesight has gotten worse, so they only do non-incisional now~~ If non-incisional had been possible, the doctor was extremely kind, so I think I would have received a more detailed consultation
ㅇㄴㅂ / ㅈㅊㅎ (looked to be in their 50s) 5 million won: forehead lift + partial incision + epicanthoplasty + ptosis correction 2.75 million won: incision + epicanthoplasty + ptosis correction - It’s not that I have a lot of fat on my upper eyelids, but that skin is covering them, so if double eyelids are made, I need to account for the upper eyelids looking bulgy. Because of that, if I want to make the pretty eyes I’m expecting, it would be better to widen the distance between the eyes (with a forehead lift) and proceed with non-incisional surgery (recommended because recovery is fast) - Reason they don’t recommend simple skin incision: eyelid skin consists of upper part - thicker skin / lower part - thinner skin, so if it is cut and attached, the relatively thinner skin in the middle disappears - Side effects of forehead lift No need to worry about hair loss or scars, and reduced sensation can take around 6 months for sensation at the crown of the head to return Dizziness for two days (they said nausea can occur on the day of surgery), tingling, and it becomes comfortable after 3-6 months - I asked whether patients are satisfied despite these uncomfortable side effects, and they said yes
