I had philtrum reduction and lateral mouth-corner lift with Dr. Gong. I know they also do scarless philtrum reduction, but they recommended an incision under the nose. I was extremely worried about lip scarring, but the consultant said the incision would be made inside the lip so the scar wouldn’t show much, so I trusted that and decided to do it. Now that I’ve had the surgery, the scar is very visible. It’s my fault for trusting only what the consultant said… I did the lateral procedure, but my lip shape became slightly like a ㅅ, and although the mouth corners went up, while doing the lateral procedure, the original mouth-corner area became part of the upper lip, so the very ends of both mouth corners disappeared. So it feels like my mouth looks smaller. After the surgery, I realized that the horizontal length of both ends of the mouth corners visually affects the size of the mouth. The philtrum wasn’t reduced excessively, so it seems natural. But there is a scar… Maybe because the director is busy, aftercare and consultations are all done quickly and hurriedly. I know they’re good at philtrum and nose procedures, but if you’re only doing the philtrum, I don’t recommend it. For lips, the scars show even more, so I even more strongly do not recommend it.
