The doctor’s skill wasn’t especially poor, and the suturing skill was good too.
He explained well the areas he could handle, the things he wasn’t confident about, and the expected degree of change after surgery. I really liked that part.
Since he’s right-handed, he said he should use cartilage from the right ear to avoid scarring and to harvest it well. There was absolutely no scar and no ear pain, and I felt he was very skilled at the basic techniques.
I wasn’t told about capsular contracture, but years later I realized the things I experienced were an inflammation + contracture response.
The director personally explained most of the surgery, and he was kind and even explained the surgical method and process, plus the post-op precautions.
But he didn’t explain the side effects.. I’m scared the records will disappear after 10 years.. I need to go soon..
