Review of double-chin and jawline liposuction + mid-frequency masseter reduction

I had surgery on July 26! It’s the 10th day since surgery haha. I’ve never written a review before... but before surgery, I got a lot of information from this community, so I’m posting a review based on my experience to help others with their choices. There were so many bad things said about masseter reduction that I was only going to do liposuction, but my muscles were very developed, so I didn’t think liposuction alone would have much effectㅠㅠ so I just went, whatever, and did it lol.

1. Swelling The Saturday after surgery was really ... the swelling... haha; I looked unbelievably ugly. I took Friday off, rested Friday-Saturday-Sunday, and went to work on Monday, and I was so glad I had taken that day off lol. On Sunday, maybe I had gotten used to the shocking look from the day before, so I thought, oh, the swelling went down a lot? But still, when my friend saw me, they pointed and giggled, saying I looked really ugly. It was to the point where I wondered if I could go to work the next day, but Monday was actually okay. I even started to think my appearance looked cute... Maybe my coworkers felt the same way, because they just laughed and said, “lololol cute”^^ After that, as Tuesday and Wednesday passed day by day, it felt like I was getting my original face back. Maybe because I had heard that swelling from masseter reduction is huge and prepared myself for it, it felt like it went down faster than I expected. On Friday (one week), I live alone, so I thought, oh... it doesn’t show, it doesn’t show at all, and went home, but my dad, who knew nothing, saw me and said, doesn’t your jaw seem bigger since I last saw you? lol. And today (day 10), my condition is very good lol. The swelling is probably still there, so I’m really looking forward to how I’ll look after it all goes down, one or two months later ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

2. Pain There was no pain at all lol. I had the masseter reduction first under local anesthesia, then liposuction after sedation anesthesia. I don’t know if I’m just insensitive.. During the masseter reduction, the director said I was tolerating it so well that liposuction could probably be done without sedation too, so I said absolutely not and asked them to sedate me immediately lolololol. Even if it doesn’t hurt... scary is still scary haha. I don’t know when I fell asleep, but when I woke up, I had a bandage on. My mouth didn’t move well, but I haven’t felt pain from after waking up until now.

3. Effect Honestly, it’s still early to talk about the effect. At first, it didn’t look very different from before, so I wondered if the director hadn’t removed enough, or if I should have dieted first, and I felt some regret, but today, on day 10, I saw that my double chin had gone down a lot. However, the swelling from the masseter reduction has spread downward, so I’m still bothered about whether the jawline area is swelling or fatㅠㅠ. I think I need to watch it a bit more.

4. Inconveniences/side effects So far, I don’t know about any side effects. To be honest, I’m still anxious because I’ve heard a lot of bad stories about masseter reductionㅠㅠㅠ but thankfully, nothing has happened so far. I don’t know about side effects yet, and if there’s anything inconvenient, at first, I couldn’t open my mouth, so eating was hardㅠ. Now my mouth opens much more than at first, but they told me not to eat hard foods.... I’m depressed because I can’t eat meat. Every day, I try to find mostly fried rice and noodles to eat, and it’s painful ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I want to eat meat. Still, I did cut meat into small pieces and chew very gently, and tried one or two pieces lolololol. Nothing will happen, right....?

As I was writing, this got way too long with useless details lol. I’ll write up to here for now. If there’s anything you’re curious about, please ask. I’ll tell you as much as I know~~!!
