-Day of surgery. Mon I had 3-contour facial bone surgery and revision nose surgery, and the surgery started around 2 p.m. After it ended, I was lying in the recovery room right next to the operating room, then went up to the inpatient room, and when I asked what time it was, they said it was 8.
First, the tension and fear when I lay on the operating table... I’m naturally very timid, so I was really scaredㅠㅠ They put the general anesthesia needle into my left wrist, and it was thick, plus the person doing it wasn’t skilled, so they couldn’t find it at first and someone else came and did it The needle kept moving back and forth and it hurt sooooo bad, I was really annoyed This kept throbbing and hurting until the needle was removed when I was discharged...
For the anesthesia, they said I’d feel sleepy, then I fell asleep, and when I opened my eyes the surgery was over! Severe nausea and dizziness
I’ve had nose surgery before, but it was so hard back then that I swore I’d never do nose surgery again, but the nasal bridge between my eyes was unnaturally high, so I had surgery to lower the bridge a bit and raise the nasal tip more
Having my nose blocked was truly so so so*10000 hellish and hard, I regretted it, shed little tears alone, and the stuffiness and anxiety from not being able to breathe were so huge that it was really hard ㅜㅜ I really, really do not recommend doing facial contouring and nose surgery together...
Because of the anesthesia tube, my throat hurt so, so much, and it felt like my throat was wrecked? I also had a drain in, and because I had to breathe entirely through my mouth, my mouth wasn’t just dry, it got so dry it cracked, so dry that my tongue completely dried out, incredibly dry, even my throat was dry This was so painful, and I had to keep wetting my mouth, so I swallowed a few drops of water at a time, but every time I swallowed, my nose was blocked, so it was torture...
Sleeping was also really hard. If I struggled and barely fell asleep, my mouth and throat would be bone dry again, so I’d wake up startled and only 5 minutes had passed... I repeated that all night... Sleeping sitting up made my butt hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep, so I kept just sitting there They came regularly to give me painkillers, but honestly I felt like they had no effect My nose didn’t hurt aside from being blocked, and my whole face had throbbing pain and hurt a lot
-Day 1 after surgery. Tue After spending time in pain without knowing how time was passing, the next day that felt like it would never come arrived My throat was even more swollen. I also had a slight fever While processing discharge, they removed the drain and changed the bandage I looked through many reviews and never saw anyone say removing the drain hurt, but ah... it hurts.... it was the drain’s betrayal It’s not like “Ah, it hurts!” but more like my whole face is being pulled out?... haha
I had to come back the next day too, so I scheduled a time I’m from outside Seoul, so my boyfriend came to pick me up in time for discharge It may differ by person, but I don’t think I could have moved around alone at all
I still couldn’t sleep, the pain was severe, and I had to take the prescribed medicine, but swallowing one sip of water was hard, and I took the medicine over several minutes like I was being tortured Repeated sleeping and waking*1000000 I have to keep sleeping only sitting up for a while, and I feel like I’m going to get pressure sores on my butt ㅜㅜㅜㅜ
-Day 2 after surgery. Wed The day to remove the nasal cotton. My boyfriend went back and forth with me ㅜㅜㅜ How do people living in Seoul manage? The traffic is so bad..... I couldn’t live there....
Removing the nasal cotton, ugh, this too.... felt freaking awful lolololol Like my whole nose was being pulled out lolololol Like my eyeballs were falling out.... ugh..... bleh Still, once the nasal cotton was removed, I felt so, so much more alive
But nothing changed drastically, and it was still painful
After removing the nasal cotton, they took off the bandage and put the compression band on me The swelling was enormous..... Like if you poked it with a needle, it would burst? With the compression band, it stood out even more, and I really hated myself like this.... haha My boyfriend seeing me in this state was amazing, admirable, and I was so, so gratefulㅜㅜ
After removing the cotton, they gave me one swelling injection in my butt A tiny injection like that is nothing now, it doesn’t even hurt
I don’t know if it was because of this, but after I went to the hospital and came home, on this day, my swelling had been so bad I couldn’t even open my eyes properly, but my eyes opened! The swelling around my eyes disappeared
But the swelling in the lower face is enormous.. My lips became 10 times my own lips lololol like pollock roe You need to apply lip balm well
The amount of phlegm was also enormous, so while sleeping sitting up, phlegm came up like I was vomiting blood and woke me up I thought I was the female lead in a drama My throat condition is really, really bad ㅠㅠㅠ
-Day 3 after surgery. Thu Still, what’s fascinating is that somehow time keeps passing.... On Tuesday I have to visit the clinic, remove the nasal splint, and remove the nasal stitches, and ah... I really don’t want to go I know because I’ve had nose surgery, but nasal stitches really hurt so muchㅠㅠㅠ I don’t want to goㅠㅠㅠㅠ
They said the stitches inside the mouth will be removed at week 3
And even though the nasal cotton was removed, there’s no change because right after removing the nasal cotton, a little blood flows, and after that a lot of nasal discharge comes out, so because of that it feels blocked again Still, it’s much better than when the cotton was inㅠ
I truly had no appetite at all until yesterday, had no strength in my whole body, and was dizzy, so from the fasting time the day before surgery until yesterday, I didn’t eat anything I just kept drinking water, kept going to the bathroom, and repeated only that ㅠ
I’m still not hungry at all, but I feel like I should eat, so I’m going to eat the roasted sweet potato porridge I bought in advance
I’m craving ice cream, Together ice cream.... TMI haha
Now, compared to the day I went all the way to the gates of hell, I’m a bit more able to live, so I’m writing this review because I wanted to write it while I still remember everything vividly, but it still isn’t livable... This lower-face swelling that feels like it’ll burst.... I feel sorry to my lips...
Before surgery, I searched every review there was and even DM’d Instagram celebrities, but I feel like no matter how many reviews you read, it’s not enough.... So every single review was really precious
Oh, and this is random, but on the day I went in on day 2, I met someone who is active as a representative image model for that hospital lolololol It felt like seeing a celebrity lolololol
