I’m writing a review 2 years after facial contouring surgery.
As soon as January 2017 began, I spent all the money I had and had surgery. I had always lived hearing every day that my facial features were pretty but my face shape looked lacking, so I decided to have surgery. I live outside Seoul, so I couldn’t really go around consulting at multiple places, and I had surgery right away at Appeal! I had 45-degree cheekbones, side cheekbones, T-osteotomy setback genioplasty on the chin, and square-jaw surgery all done.
During recovery, even at 4 months I was living happily, thinking all the swelling had gone down because my facial lines had become softer, but I think swelling keeps going down and the face settles into place until a little over 1 year. In between, I sometimes felt throbbing from the areas incised inside the mouth, and on days when I overdid it, I felt a stinging sensation around the mouth. When I pressed my left cheekbone, there was also a clicking sound, so I spent a very anxious period, but with time everything resolved. Now I live as if it’s completely my own face, to the point where I can receive dental whitening and treatment without issue. If you ask whether I would go back and have the surgery again, I say I would do it again 100 times, but recently I also search online for “10 years after facial contouring,” and sometimes scenes like that even appear in my dreams, so I do worry about my face possibly collapsing in the future~ haha So whether I age because of time or it simply sags, my mindset is that of course I’ll get a facelift decades from now.
Even now, 2 years later, it’s still a surgery I’m glad I chose, and when I lift my jawline skin with my hands and compare it with friends who only had thread lifting, it doesn’t seem like I have much more excess facial flesh. I think you really need to consider your own skin and tissue quality before surgery... Of course I don’t know what will happen later, but that’s my rough guess? hehe..
So even if there are areas of my current face I want to maintain or touch up, I’m not getting any filler or anything like that in my cheeks or jaw area, excluding the forehead. I’m worried that when I get older and have a facelift, I might have to dissolve it again. And I absolutely have no intention of doing thread lifting. I also don’t plan to get a lot of laser lifting. So far I’ve had Shurink twice! No effect~ The deeper tissues under the skin are affected by lasers, but I think there’s just no answer for loose skin except a facelift. Until new technology comes out, I’m going to try to keep my face my own way. I’m still a newcomer in year 2, but I’m getting a lot of information here. Thank you!!
