My upper and lower teeth didn’t align, so I tried to resolve it with orthodontic treatment alone, but they said my teeth would become retroclined, so I decided to have surgery and went to ㅇㅇㄷ Hospital for a consultation. I had a slightly protruding lower jaw, and at the time I was very interested in double-jaw surgery, so maybe because of that, they recommended double-jaw surgery if I wanted a dramatic change. But in my own judgment, I thought I would be satisfied with just mandibular setback surgery, so when I said I wanted mandibular surgery, they told me the effect would be minimal if I did that, but I ended up deciding on mandibular surgery. The doctor and nurses were all kind, so I remember feeling at ease during the surgery. Right after surgery was the most painful, and for a day or two I couldn’t sleep properly.. I didn’t even have the energy to eat, so I only drank ion drinks and ate all foods blended. What I remember from then is crying while thinking, why did I do this? Since it was a year ago, I don’t remember exactly when it started, but I think I gradually regained my strength as I started eating little by little. After all the swelling went down, the reflection of myself in the mirror was pure satisfaction, and later I thought I really did well to have the surgery and that it was truly a good decision to do only the mandible. (When I see people who had double-jaw surgery, there’s sometimes a slightly unnatural-looking mouth area?? I guess that’s how to put it, but I didn’t have that.) After that, I went through orthodontic treatment for 2 and a half years?? and suffered all over again~ Now my orthodontic treatment is completely finished, and I’m living very satisfied. If I had to mention a downside, it would be sagging skin from the mandibular surgery and orthodontic treatment. Before, my jawline was slim and I had no double chin at all, but maybe because my jaw moved back and I had orthodontics, I developed fat under my chin and it saggedㅎㅎ I tried lifting injections too, but they had no effect at all. Oh right, I think I lost about 6 kg within less than a week after mandibular surgery. Even after that, my weight kept going down. I think it was because I only consumed ion drinks. As for side effects after surgery, the incision area feels very slightly numb, and there is skin sagging. But it doesn’t interfere with my life, so I’m living a very very very happy life now. Every time I look in the mirror, I like it so much. If I have one regret, maybe I should have worn the compression band more diligently? Then it might have sagged lessㅜ Maybe it sagged more because I didn’t wear it since it felt stuffy.. I always used to cover my mouth when laughing, and I couldn’t close my mouth well either, but now I laugh confidently in front of people, and I often hear compliments that my teeth look pretty when I smile. It’s a major surgery, so you have to be careful, and I’m sure there are people who regret it, but I’m very satisfied, so this isn’t exactly a recommendation, but it’s a positive opinion.. My personality also improved a lot after surgery, and I’m just grateful to the doctor~
