Hello My nostril wings used to stress me out, so after getting surgery, I'm posting a review.. It's now been almost 4 days
1. Surgery, clinic, cost
I went to a clinic I found through my own search It isn't a place that is famous in this community, but after going to consultations at all of them, I chose the place I liked the most.
The cost was about 800,000 KRW, excluding VAT. There wasn't any separate discount or anything like that/.
About 30 minutes, or about 40 minutes including prep time It was done under local anesthesia First of all, pain was zero- it wasn't painful at all If anything was difficult, the smell of disinfectant was a little hard to handle, and it felt stuffy not being able to breathe through my nose, but since it was a short time, it was bearable. I think it can definitely be done with local anesthesia.
2. Swelling
This was the most shocking part.
Every clinic talks about a recovery period of one or two days, but absolutely not.. The clinic where I had surgery didn't particularly mention swelling, but they had said it wouldn't be a difficult process..
Even though I don't have a special constitution, I swell really severely... Since they are cutting away flesh, it's no different from other surgeries. It's just that the surgery process itself is easy; I think you need to be prepared for the surgical recovery period.
People who, like me, expected, "I probably won't swell~" will be really shocked, upset, and anxious. If I had at least been aware that the swelling could be severe, it wouldn't have been this hard.....
Until yesterday, I almost couldn't sleep because I was crying. It swells so, so much and you look ugly ㅠㅠ Since they don't touch the bridge of the nose and only cut away the wings of the nostrils, the nostrils swell tremendously, even more than the nasal bridge, so at first I thought it was completely.. ruined. I understood why people get prescribed anti-anxiety medication after surgery, I regretted it so much, and I swore I would never put a knife to my face again. The nose becomes exactly 2 to 3 times bigger, but only the nostrils get that much bigger, and the philtrum and cheeks swell too, so should I say it swells even more abnormally than regular rhinoplasty? You really become ugly, so it's shocking. I wondered if it would just stay like this. Someone once said swelling and being pretty are separate things, and I think that kind of comment made me even more scaredㅠㅠ Even now, when I think about that time, my heart pounds.
3. Satisfaction so far
Only today can I see the swelling going down little by little. I'm just applying compresses diligently and eating food that isn't too salty, and I haven't made any special effort.
As of now, I'm satisfied. My nostril wings were very severely drooping.. Actually, my nasal bridge itself is high, so it wasn't suitable to raise the nose, and I thought it might even get worse. A few clinics recommended surgery, but even to me, my nasal bridge and such are not low, so if it got higher it would look stranger and I thought the drooping of the nostril wings would become more pronounced.
Of course, I won't know until more of the swelling goes down, but my nose originally looked long, and now it has become a little shorter, so I think it has the effect of shortening the midface. My face looks smaller than before (maybe because my nose is swollen and bigger..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
And in my opinion, my side profile has really improved a lot.
I was always upset because my side profile felt lacking and my nose looked droopy, and although it isn't a huge change, overall the balance seems better and improved, so I'm satisfied.
Of course, there is absolutely no huge change. To be honest, it's not that other people barely notice it ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I think they won't notice at all. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It feels like a personal complex only I knew about has disappeared.
But honestly, isn't plastic surgery more than anything for my own satisfaction? If that's the case, I want to say I'm satisfied. People whose nostril wings drooped a lot like mine will probably be satisfied to some extent.
I'm still fighting a war with the swelling.. But honestly, it would also be strange to have no swelling on day 4 or 5..ㅜㅜ It will go down, right..? Please definitely take swelling into account. Of course, looking at the post below, there are also people who didn't swell. I'm so jealous..... ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
If it goes down more from here, I think my satisfaction will keep increasing.
I'm going to have the stitches removed next week, and after about 2 weeks, I'll post another review.
**My satisfaction with the clinic is on the high side. The consultant and nurses weren't extremely kind, but honestly, I prefer being treated just appropriately rather than overly excessive kindness, so it wasn't bad, and overall they guided me well and did what they needed to do.
I liked the doctor's way of explaining things and how they considered the patient's opinions in various ways. With my personality, doctors who have very strong opinions and push ahead don't really suit me ㅠ Maybe it's because my own opinions are too strong..ㅋㅋㅋ So a place that understood my complexes was the best fit for me.
Ah, of course, in my opinion this surgery isn't that huge of a thing, so I think whichever place you're looking into would probably be similar...ㅋㅋ
Swelling is the problem..ㅠㅠ So I intentionally didn't write the clinic name, but if you're curious, please ask.
There don't seem to be many nostril wing reviews in this community.. I think there are many people worrying a lot like I did. If anyone is interested in nostril wing surgery, please refer to my post and decide-! (Especially the swelling ㅠㅠ )
