I didn’t look into hospitals that much, and after looking at Babitalk and the Yeowooya cafe, I chose a clinic and had surgery on Wednesday, the discount day. I also had under-eye fat repositioning and rhinoplasty done together.
Day 1 When I was changing into the hospital gown, I saw someone being discharged after surgery and got so scared, but thinking about it now, I feel like their surgery was actually done very neatly. I, on the other hand, had bruises under my eyes and left looking almost like a runaway slave ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ... I got intimidated after seeing that, but I was grateful that the consultant comforted me, saying I’d look younger and prettier after surgery. That gave me strength and I went ahead with the surgery. As for anesthesia, honestly I felt like I wanted to stay under anesthesia forever. I think I went into surgery around 11 a.m., and when I opened my eyes it was around 4? After the anesthesia wore off, my throat hurt so, so much from the aftereffects of general anesthesia, so it was hard. I couldn’t drink water right away either, and after they removed the cotton from inside my nose yesterday, breathing felt a bit more livable, but until then it was so hard because I had to breathe through my mouth. I couldn’t speak comfortably either, and my voice wouldn’t come outㅎㅎㅎ The person next to me who had facial contouring was also in so much pain, so I was scared and thought, what kind of great movie was I trying to see that made me do this, I want to die... (I really regretted it over and over.) Still, even in the middle of all that, I was so thankful to the nurses who brought me water and changed my ice packs. And because lying down continuously was uncomfortable, I went back and forth to the bathroom often. I had to drag the IV pole around, so I felt sorry in case I bothered the person next to me.
Day 2 A blood vessel burst in my eye, and I have blood bruises under both eyes ㅠㅠ I’m so sad. My lower jaw is throbbing too. I’m scared that more bruises might be hiding under the tape on my face. On the first day, they told me to drink only water, so I took the Elas-A and Sindas that I had bought in advance, coughing and choking as I did. Maybe because of that, the nurses comforted me by saying the swelling wasn’t severe, but they said the bruising under my eyes could last two months and that if I’m exposed to sunlight it could pigment, so I got worried ㅠㅠ They removed the blood drain and rewrapped the bandage. Then I went back to the accommodation I had booked briefly for the surgery and did ice-pack compresses too, but I couldn’t do it as well as at the hospital. Breathing was uncomfortable too, so I couldn’t sleep properly and only drank banana milk.
Day 3 The pain was hard until day 2, but today it’s a little better. I went to the hospital, had the bandage removed and the nasal cotton taken out, so breathing seemed a bit better. I ate sweet pumpkin porridge and beef porridge too, and kept the compression band on for 1 hour and off for 30 minutes, but took it off when I went for a walk. Since the weather has gotten hot, I went in the evening to avoid the sun, but I sweated a little, so I want to get the stitches out quickly and wash my hair. I hate that I’m too timid to go around looking like this ㅜㅜ I was also prescribed eye ointment, so I applied medicine to my nose too, and I bought bruise cream at the pharmacy and have been applying it, but I fell asleep worrying it might pigment. Also, they told me to loosen the compression band when sleeping, so I slept with it loosened, and for the first time after surgery I slept deeply.
Day 4 Today is exactly day 4. Reading other people’s reviews has become the biggest task of my day. I want to recover quickly, take off the bandage, and put on makeup too.
