Transaxillary Bellagel, 2-hour surgery 155/43 kg
Day of surgery I went with no makeup, no manicure, and my armpits shaved! After arriving at the hospital, I met the doctor, had markings drawn on my breasts, and went to the operating table. I didn’t even know when anesthesia started, and after losing consciousness and opening my eyes, I had breasts lol. There are a lot of reviews saying it hurts terribly, but I don’t know whether it was because the doctor was skilled, the painkillers worked well for me, or what, but the pain wasn’t severe! It felt like muscle soreness the next day after working out my chest really, really hard..? Before surgery, I was so scared by the pain reviews that I asked them to make it not hurt, and the doctor said it varies case by case, and people with more body fat are more likely not to have pain. But I’m on the skinny side and was flat-chested, so I assumed in advance that it would hurt, but when I woke up, if anything hurt or bothered me, it was only the bandage compression and dizziness after anesthesia..! They said the person who had surgery right before me also went home totally fine without pain lol. These days, maybe surgeries are done well, but it seems like there are many people who don’t have pain..! After waking up, I got an IV for about two hours and rested in the recovery room while watching TV! I took a taxi home by myself.
The uncomfortable things after surgery are: 1. There’s nothing painful to the point that I can’t stand it (personally, just about muscle soreness..), but it hurts when I can’t lift my arms, when I lie down and get up, and when I pull or press something.. Especially opening a taxi door and pumping hand sanitizer. 2. The bandage compression on the first day is so, so severe. I don’t really know about pain; I think the compression is the biggest issue. It was hard to breathe a little. 3. Sleeping while sitting. Well, if you have a caregiver, you could sleep lying down, but I live alone and handled everything by myself, so I slept sitting up. Before surgery, I recommend buying a backrest cushion..? A really large cushion. I bought it thinking I’d use it only during recovery and throw it away, so I got just pillow stuffing for about 20,000 won. This pillow was the key move for sleeping while sitting. Still, on the first day, because of the bandage compression + tension after surgery + the awkwardness of sleeping sitting up.. as a combo, I barely slept. From the second day on, I just took a sleep aid and slept! I recommend a sleep aid too..!
