In the end, I received a surgery that was not suitable for my nose. Before surgery, my nose was a high, straight nose when viewed from the side, and on CT there was a slight hump. The problem was the front view: from the front, my nasal bones, alar width, and nostrils were all wide. I did go around for consultations here and there and read countless reviews, but I was too impatient compared with my budget, so I ended up choosing the clinic because of the cost. During the consultation, I earnestly requested reducing the size of my large nose, leaving the side profile as untouched as possible, and if it had to be touched, doing the minimum.. I don’t know if the osteotomy was not done well, but the shape and size of my nose are just as wide and large as before (if anything, the nose looks longer from the front). As for alar reduction, other clinics said I didn’t need it, but I requested it because I thought it might affect the overall nose size. Yet as the years pass, it has only left scars that get deeper, while the shape and size of the nostril wings are still the same.. Also, I was told that if the nasal tip was raised, it would have the relative effect of making the nose look shorter, so the nasal tip was reinforced. But it was designed in a shape that did not fully consider the balance and harmony of my face, so from the side it looks sharp (of course, since it was built up), but it does not suit my face, and it was so large and unnatural that only my nose stood out. The biggest problem is that there was no consideration of the overall line connecting the surrounding nasal bridge, nasal root, nasolabial angle, and philtrum. When you look at it, it seems like they simply raised just the nose. If the nasal bridge, nasolabial angle, nasal ala, and so on had shapes and sizes not far from average, it may not have been a problem, but that was not my case. In my case, the nasal ala, nasolabial angle, and nasal bone size stayed the same, while only the height increased. If the shape was going to be unnatural, I at least wanted the size to be reduced properly, but it ended up exactly in the state I was afraid of (the nose shape remaining the same while only the height increased).. My nose or my requests may have been difficult to handle, but if so, I wish they had spoken to me as professionals about what could change and what would not change.. It’s unfortunate
