On April 27, I had surgery to lower the outer corners of my eyes for 2,500,000 won. I had told the consultant in charge that because of the nature of my job, I could not look unnatural, and when I also said I only had about one month, they sweet-talked me, saying that after a month I would be able to work like before and people would say I had become prettier. So I scheduled the surgery for a few days later and went into the operating room. I asked the director to make it look natural, but the surgery was done excessively, so instead of puppy-like eyes, my eye corners changed my face into one that looks overly wronged and pitiful. Because of excessive mucous membrane exposure, my eyes feel cold and irritated, and every day when I wake up, yellow eye discharge is stuck around the mucous membrane area of my eyesㅠ The lower eyelashes on my left eye stick upward and keep poking my eye, so my eye feels cold and irritated, but they say the surgery went well and that the lashes will come down with time. It has already been over 6 months, but they have not come down at all. But as time goes on, the skin is opening up more, and unlike at first, it is gradually deforming into a ㄷ shape, so the lower eyelashes on the left side stick upward and poke my eye. In the second month, I went to the hospital and said I felt like I was going to develop a mental illness, that I had heard too many people say I looked gross, and that I could not stay like this, so I asked them to restore it again. I had restoration surgery again on July 1. Even on the day the stitches were removed 8 days later, I was anxious and said the mucous membrane was visible and the cut area of the flesh was also noticeable on the right side. They said it was because of swelling and that it would improve with time. When I asked whether it might open up because it was visible, the director said it absolutely would not open up. But on July 18, I felt something suddenly drop, and the outer corner of my eye had opened upㅠ The lacrimal caruncle exposure also became severeㅠ I thought it had probably opened up, and I was anxious, so I called the hospital. They scheduled a follow-up check with the director two days later, but I was so anxious that during those two days I went to 5 hospitals. And all 5 hospitals said the mucous membrane exposure was a trace caused by excessive surgery, and that it had indeed opened up. They also said the vertical knife-mark scars would not disappear and would remain for life. They said that because the surgery had been done after cutting the fascial ligament, even if it was restored, it would keep opening into a ㄷ shapeㅠ They also said that unless I had another restoration surgery again after time passed, the mucous membrane exposure at the back (red flesh) would continue to be visible, and that this was a side effect caused because the restoration was not done properly. All 5 hospitals said the same thingㅠ They said the upward-sticking eyelashes were also a side effect of the surgery, and that to eliminate the upward-sticking eyelashes, I would need an additional surgery to lower the eyelashes, and that this surgery would also cost extraㅠ I have been unable to work for 3 months and have lost all that timeㅠ The consultant kept repeating on KakaoTalk that it was not mucous membrane exposure, that it was because of swelling, just swelling. So when I asked what they would do if the mucous membrane exposure was still visible after a month, they said something absurd like, “Then we should restore it again.” Are they telling me to hide at home for another 4 months...? I was angry and upset, so I messaged the consultant. I said, “The gross red flesh at the back and the opened-up area are visible to anyone, so I wish you would stop saying something else. I clearly told you that if the mucous membrane was visible, I could not work, and asked you to cover all of that, right? I have to undergo reconstruction again, and it looks like 4 months will be gone. I am sorry I raised my voice at you earlier, but since you are an employee who worked at that clinic, isn’t this the hospital’s responsibility? I am at my limit now too. I clearly kept saying it looked like the mucous membrane would be visible, but the hospital kept saying it was swelling and just let time pass, so the hospital is also at fault. This hospital created vertical knife-mark scars during surgery and dug out all the flesh, causing all this mucous membrane exposureㅠ Yet they have not apologized even once for that, and instead they are bringing up the legal team. I have suffered a lot financially because I cannot work. When I went for a consultation at another hospital, they showed me a photo of another person and said that person had also come after things went wrong at that clinic and had restoration surgery at their hospital. They showed me the photoㅠ It had been operated on exactly like mine, as if the flesh had been eaten away, and the mucous membrane exposure was also as severe as mine, so it was so heartbreaking. It has already been almost 4 months since the restoration, but my eyes are still ㄷ-shaped, and the more the swelling goes down, the more my eyes look like they are gradually droopingㅠ The restoration was also done unevenly, so my left eye looks more droopy, and it looks like the eye is flipped inside out. The shape of my eyes is so different from before that all I can think is that I really want to turn back time. What I am left with now are uneven eyes, deformed ㄷ-shaped outer eye corners, vertical knife-mark scars on both sides from surgery done after cutting the fascial ligament, red mucous membrane exposure, yellow eye discharge when I wake up, and side effects from the surgery to lower the outer corners of my eyes: the eyelashes of my left eye stick upward and keep poking my eye, so the area under my eye hurts so much and feels so cold and irritated that I have to put saline in frequently. Those are the only side effects leftㅠ
