I had an open approach and used osteotomy, silicone, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage, and I think it took about a year for the swelling to go down. I had sedation anesthesia, so it didn’t hurt. But a scar remains on the columella under my nose and won’t go away It bothers me, so these days I’m looking into scar removal.
