I didn’t know where to write a dimple surgery review, so I’m posting it here.
I have a lot of cheek fat, so every time I smiled, my cheek fat would bunch up. My smile looked awkward and my face looked plain, so while thinking about what to do, I thought I should add a focal point with dimple surgery, since it was affordable and had relatively low risk. After searching around online, the place I chose had good reviews on its website, so I didn’t even think about going anywhere else and booked here right away and had the surgery. (There were a lot of reviews saying people had it done elsewhere, it came undone, and they had revision surgery here.) First of all, it was my first surgery where I got anesthetic injections and went up onto the operating table, so I was extremely nervous. But since this was a place that also does bigger surgeries, it felt embarrassing to show that I was shakingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I went as quickly as possible after work, but I was the only one there. It was right before closing time, but everyone was kind. The consultation with the director took about 20-30 minutes. They took photos of my face and asked what shape I wanted, whether I wanted both sides or one side. They also checked my face shape and asymmetry. When I said I didn’t particularly have a shape I wanted, they said my face has a bit of asymmetry, and one side of the cheek becomes slightly crinkled when I smile, possibly because of something like a side effect from facial contouring injections, so if I did that side, the dimple probably would not look pretty. So unfortunately, I ended up doing only one side.
I got an injection in my buttock, gargled inside my mouth, and received anesthetic injections once each on the outside of my cheek and inside my cheek. The surgery took about 10 minutes, and it ended really quickly. Because of the anesthetic injections, there was no pain at all, but the buttock injection and the facial contouring injection I got together were extremely painful. The facial contouring injections cost more than the dimple surgery because I had so much cheek fatㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It hurt more than any facial contouring injection I had ever gotten before, and I bruised a lot too, but I think the effect was the best.
For one week, I cut the skin-colored part of a Band-Aid small and wore it. I was able to wear makeup right away. Since it was dissolvable thread, after a week, it really amazingly fell off on its own. Until about 2 months, it was sunken in even when I wasn’t smiling, so it was noticeable, and from the 3rd month it became really natural. Now, people meeting me for the first time think it’s natural. Still, to people who know me, it would probably be noticeableㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
After getting it done, I smile more easily, and since smiling doesn’t feel awkward anymore, I want to get the other side done tooㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Ah! And although whether it comes undone can differ by person, considering that I have a lot of cheek fat and it still hasn’t come undone, I think it probably won’t come undone.
I want to upload photos, but no matter what I do, they won’t upload ㅜㅜ
