I only had eye surgery, and it was the full set. <Estimate> Lower-inner corner widening (dual oblique line) with periosteal fixation Upper corner widening Eye-opening correction The price was said to be over 2 million KRW by the chief director, and 1.77 million KRW by the newly brought-in doctor. Even though they brought in a new doctor, Director Seong tempted me with the line that he was really thorough.
<Side effects> 1. Severe over-adhesion on the outer line of both eyes, and even adhesion inside. <Serious From the inner side at the outer corner of the eyes to the outer line, everything is stuck to the eye. Worse, the adhesion recurred again just one week after the revision surgery. This is fatal because it caused not only a cosmetic issue but also a functional problem where the gaze would not turn properly. To this day, the left and right eyes each have 45% less outward range of motion, and when I move my eyes sideways or diagonally, they keep sticking and pulling, so redness happens easily.
2. The scar tissue became severe. Even after time passed and even after the revision surgery, one pink scar tissue on one side remained and was left untreated, then fused. After that, it turned white and adhered to both the eyelid and the eyeball.
What do they think they are doing in revision surgery by only cutting the outside and leaving the inner tissue intact? It’s not a joke. They said almost everything could be removed. If I hadn’t recorded this, these people would have denied it all as a group. Later on, the manager even started badmouthing Director Seong, who had already left during my consultation. Compared with how she treated me before, that change in attitude was astonishing.
<Actual process> After the first surgery, there was scar tissue and internal adhesion caused by over-adhesion. They kept insisting we wait 6 months, but then in under 3 months, when I pushed firmly, they eventually performed the revision surgery in under 3 months. Before going into the revision surgery, former Director Seong Ji-yun promised to remove the scar tissue. In the end, he only cut a little bit of the scar tissue he couldn’t handle and ended the surgery, leaving it as it was.
The surgical record falsely stated that complete removal had been performed. While cutting away the scar tissue, they only excised the end part so that the eye would turn a little better. So the half-cut, ragged scar tissue fused back to the eyelid in just one week as time passed, turning white after 4 months and causing pulling.
The hospital says surgery cannot be done on the same area. Even if it didn’t go well, it still can’t be done. They forced me to sign an affidavit stating that a second revision surgery on the same area is not possible, you know that, right? If I didn’t sign it, they wouldn’t do the revision surgery. They forced me to agree, and then they botched the revision surgery by doing it carelessly. I argued with them. I asked to see the chief director. I wanted to hear the chief director’s thoughts. I asked whether this surgery had been done properly. There is absolutely no way they can say it was done well. Then shouldn’t they be responsible and provide free aftercare until it is fixed? Does it make sense for the manager to bring up the affidavit after causing side effects?
The responsibility is mainly with Director Seong Ji-yun, who is no longer at the hospital and performed the surgery, but the hospital delayed pointlessly by waiting and watching according to the textbook, let the scar tissue attach and grow, and left it until the situation became something one doctor alone could not handle. They would have nothing to say even if they had ten mouths. On top of that, another clinic even said that scar tissue removal has a golden time. So the compromise was a second revision surgery 3 months after the revision surgery. But then the question comes up:
If you want to prevent recurrence of adhesion and over-adhesion, what surgical method will you use? Will you just cut it again like Director Seong did last time? At first they do not clearly tell me the method in response to this question. They say the surgical method has to be decided after looking at the progress. When I say, assuming the adhesion will not disappear at all, please tell me the surgical method, they still cannot answer in the end. They have no confidence that the adhesion will not recur. The inner tissue of the eye is already a tangled mess, badly cut up and stuck together. Another hospital explained that there is also a method of placing an implant in between to prevent adhesion, but here they do not present any concrete surgical method or solution to prevent recurrence at all. In the end, after the consultation, I lost all trust in this hospital, including the chief director. The lateral canthoplasty is a type of surgery the original doctor doesn’t usually do, but the manager saying they would specially do it for me was really not convincing at all. I want more than a full refund; I want them to pay extra compensation for the side effects, but I do not want to keep fighting, so I am exposing this here instead. This place is insufficient in postoperative care, accountability, surgical method, and explanation of side effects, based on the content above.
All the tissue from the inner side to the outer side along the lateral canthus was stuck together, and naturally the field of view I could move with only my eyes, without turning my head, narrowed by about 45% compared with before surgery.
The chief director and the hospital, after basically putting me to sleep and doing a sloppy cut, and as a result trying to avoid responsibility for the side effects from former Director Seong Ji-yun, who has now left the hospital, leave me no choice but to write this. If they even now remove only the side effects free of charge, I’ll think about taking the post down later. Ah, they are not giving back the refund. You remember that even they said the shape came back because the fixation thread broke, right?
Also, if this post gets taken down, I will go file a claim for damages for the side effects against the hospital the very next day. I was honestly surprised that a post suspension request is even possible, though. For reference, to make sure my expose post doesn’t get buried, I will delete and repost it in the community every six months.

For anyone deliberating about lower eyelid widening or lower-inner corner widening, please, even if it costs more, make sure to do it with a lateral canthoplasty. I’m borrowing the manager’s words.
