9-Day Rhinoplasty Review

Before<⬆️Before surgery>Before<⬆️Before surgery>Before<⬆️Before surgery>After<⬆️After surgery>After<⬆️After surgery>I had never thought about wanting plastic surgery anywhere else. Ever since I was young, my nose had always been my complex, and it was something I had long wanted to fix lol..

I felt my nose was large compared with my face, and although my nasal bridge was not extremely high, I did not think it was low either. But the part I always disliked was my round nasal tip (bulbous nose). Because of my nasal tip, whenever I took photos from the side, I really hated how the tip looked blunt like a cliff, so I think I almost never took side-profile photos ㅠㅠ

When I went for the consultation, I told them my nasal tip was my complex and mentioned things like my nose widening when I smile. After the doctor looked at it, he said I did not necessarily need silicone in the bridge, that putting it in was optional, but if I did, it would strongly give that obviously operated-on nose feeling, so he recommended not putting it in. The consultant also said she herself had only done her nasal tip. She said my columella? was longer than expected, so doing the tip with septal cartilage should work. They said they would shave down the slight hump on my nose. Even though my tip spreads and my bridge is not exactly absent, they said because the tip is blunt and so on, I would probably need osteotomy.. lol

I had nasal tip surgery (septal cartilage) + osteotomy + slight hump refinement.

Yesterday I had the splint removed and the stitches under my nose removed.

Day of surgery In the recovery room, my throat got dry from breathing through my mouth, so I coughed and woke up from anesthesia. After removing the cotton inside my nose, I thought it was not too uncomfortable. When eating, because of the stitches under my nose, I could not open my mouth wide, so eating was uncomfortable (I cut food into small pieces ㅠㅠ)

Day 1 I thought it was not that uncomfortable, but that was a huge mistake. Even though I turned on a humidifier, kept a tumbler beside me, and drank water, breathing through my mouth made me dry, so I woke up every 30 minutes to 1 hour. I went to get the cotton removed after barely sleeping at all. I thought breathing would become easier after the cotton was removed, but there was a silicone plate? placed inside my nostrils, so until that was removed, it was uncomfortable... It was harder to breathe than I expected.

Days 2 and 3 Bruising started to appear under my eyes, so I started taking Danggui Sushen decoction. I thought there was almost no swelling, but it slowly started swelling.

Day 4 The bruising was fading yellow.

Day 5 The swelling started moving down toward the area around my mouth. The bruising was almost gone.

Day 8 (splint removal) Normally it is removed at one week, but the appointment time was a bit awkward, so I just went to have it removed on day 8. When I went and had the splint removed, I did not think removing the splint would hurt, but it really hurt ㅠㅠ It felt like pressing down on a bruised area?? They removed the silicone membrane? inside my nose. Breathing became completely easy. Removing the stitches under my nose stung, but was bearable. After doing these three things, my eyes welled up..ㅠ They removed the sticky residue (wiped it off with something like ethanol). They disinfected the inside of my nose. The oiliness and sebum on my nose were no joke... My whole face was just white and flaking ㅠ

The person who removed my splint and the doctor said the nasal line seemed to have come out well and that the swelling just needed to go down. They said even if the nasal tip looks like it has been lifted a lot, as the swelling goes down, the tip will gradually come down. They said since no implant or cartilage was inserted, it did not seem likely that inflammation would come up in particular.

Day 9 Until yesterday, I only washed the visible areas using cleansing wipes (water type) + wet wipes + peeling pads.

They said I could wash my face starting the day after splint removal, so I happily started using foam cleanser. I washed gently. ...? As I rinsed off the foam cleanser with water, dead skin rubbed off...ㅠㅠ After wiping off the water, other areas turned white and flaky (like dead skin), and on top of my nose, the skin was literally peeling off;;

In the end, I scrubbed the areas except the nose hard with peeling gel, and gently rolled over the top of my nose. I used a mask from the ㅇㅇㅍㄹㅅㅋ brand, the ㅋㄹㄷㄹ pack (it is a peel-off mask, but it is not very irritating when removed, so it is a mask I was already using). After slathering on moisturizing cream, it looks somewhat acceptable..ㅠㅠ I have to go to work starting tomorrow, so I need to wear makeup, but I feel like makeup on my nose will 100% cake and lift..ㅠㅠ
