I had surgery in 2020, so I don’t remember the consultation and aftercare very well, but I’ll write mainly about what I do remember and my 4-year review.
[About the consultation] I remember the consultation with the director being fairly long. (I don’t know whether there was a consultation fee.) It was nice that the director personally showed me through Photoshop how much improvement could be expected. I remember there not being a big change when I saw it in Photoshop, and in reality there wasn’t a big change either. (My parents couldn’t tell what had changed either) At the time, I expected that surgery would bring more change than what was shown in Photoshop, but I think the change was exactly about as much as what he showed me. I’ll write more about my satisfaction later. After that, I asked for a long time about the side effects I was worried about, and he kindly explained them in a way I could understand. And then I don’t really remember anything else. Ah! The biggest reason I chose this hospital was that the director had also had facial contouring surgery.
[Aftercare and after surgery] I think the surgery started in the morning and ended around 2 p.m.? Afterward, I don’t remember struggling because of pain, but I had too much nosebleeding. Just tilting my face forward would make my nose bleed, and I slept sitting up too. I don’t remember whether it was because my nose bled when I lay down, because it hurt, or because of the swelling, but I slept sitting up for about a week. And what surprised me the most at first was that I couldn’t open my mouth. I couldn’t open my mouth enough to fit even one little finger between my upper and lower teeth. I hadn’t been told about this before or after surgery, so I was really worried and thought the surgery had gone wrong. When I asked the hospital, they said it wasn’t a big issue, so I was able to feel relieved then. Another inconvenient thing was that I couldn’t eat properly and mostly ate only porridge. Even so, I think I had a hard time because food got stuck in the surgical site inside my mouth. I remember the dressing and swelling laser during hospital follow-up visits being good. Overall, the aftercare wasn’t lacking, but I don’t remember feeling that it was extremely good either.
[Side effects and 4-year review] As I said at the beginning, I didn’t feel a major change. So honestly, I did regret it a bit, thinking I had pursued only safety too much, paid a lot of money, gone through a hard surgery, and not seen much effect. So I also went to other hospitals for revision consultations, but after seeing my CT, they all only said that the surgery had been done very well and that even if I had a revision, there wasn’t really anything to touch. Yes,... it was just that my face shape was one where the effect was limited.... There wasn’t a big change, but the lines were slightly refined, and since there were no major side effects, I’m satisfied now. I don’t really feel any major representative side effects of facial contouring. But sometimes when I look in the mirror and don’t know what the problem is, but feel like I don’t like my face, if I go to a dermatology clinic and get Ultherapy, InMode, Juvelook, etc., I like it quite a bit for a while. It doesn’t feel major, but I think there is some sagging. (It could also just be because I have a lot of facial fat.....)
Conclusion: the doctor’s consultation was kind, and the price is on the expensive side. The effect wasn’t dramatic, but there weren’t major side effects either. Still, I’m fairly satisfied. If I went back to 4 years ago, I would be willing to have surgery at this hospital. Ah, but I didn’t do the chin tip, and if I went back, I think I would have done that too.
