I went in for a consultation about total nose removal. The doctor took photos and then had the consultation while I was lying down, checking inside my nose as well. After consulting at another hospital, I was shocked because they said there might be materials inside my nose that I had never even considered, so I couldn’t ask the questions I had written down. But for total removal, if there seemed to be a risk of extreme shape changes (columella retraction, nose upturning, pinched nose), they explained that they would leave part of the support structure in place, and they said they would reinforce the thin skin at the nasal tip with dermis.
