In 2017 I had three procedures done by Dr. Park Noh-hyeok: cheekbone reduction, chin tip surgery, and square jaw reduction. I remember there was no consultation fee back then, but from the reviews now it seems to be 20,000 won? I visited 11 places, and based on the CT results, he was the most thorough, objective, and careful in looking at my bone structure, which made me trust him. He doesn’t push you to do things unconditionally, and I even saw him turn people away decisively if they didn’t meet his standards. His consultation was also very detailed, so he didn’t just rush people through and move on to the next person; he answered everything I asked proactively. He also understood how anxious I was, so after three consultations I finally decided on surgery. He has a subjective aesthetic standard, so make sure to look carefully at the before-and-after photos on the site before deciding. He tends to avoid overcutting and aims for a natural direction that minimizes sagging as much as possible rather than creating a fox-eye or doll-like line. So if you expect drama, you might end up disappointed and regret it (I also carved as safely and naturally as possible, but since bone was actually shaved, sagging did eventually start to appear after 5 years). And although it was part of the contouring package at the time (please check if that is still the case now), they also did buccal fat removal and double chin liposuction while they were at it (I guess they pitied my big face;) I know those are usually separate procedures that cost extra.. Once I understood all of this overall, I felt like I could trust him with it, and overall he seems like a very good doctor. The director and staff are also generally kind. The facilities, especially the inpatient room, were comfortable and clean. The aftercare is also extremely thorough. I had a lot of swelling that didn’t go down, so each time they gave me swelling injections, and maybe because they felt bad for me or maybe it was a bonus, they also gave me jaw Botox, which they normally provide too. He was the doctor who seemed to empathize most with the patient’s worries about their face and felt the most human to me. He isn’t the kind of doctor who, once surgery is over, is too busy with other patients to even glance at your face; instead, every time I went he would see me, take care of me, and tell me to come back anytime if anything was lacking, like a tsundere uncle.. Ah, I’m not sure if he still does this, but he’s famous for doing surgery only in the morning and not in the afternoon. He only does consultations and patient management. There are CCTV cameras too, so I can say for sure there are no shadow doctors. As for the cost, based on prices at the time, when I compared the average of the 11 places I visited, it was right in the middle or slightly above. The three contouring procedures combined would normally be over 10 million, but when I said I’d pay in cash, they cut it to exactly 10 million. (Regarding this part, the staff member at the time may have changed now, and it could be different under current hospital policy.) Anyway, he has stayed at this one place for a long time, has had no accidents, and seems like a trustworthy doctor.
