Cons I went because one eye has severe ptosis and I said I didn’t want a line that was high overall, but I don’t know if they completely missed my needs or just didn’t try, anyway they drew the line quite high. After seeing that line, I was so horrified that my will to have surgery just vanished.. I told them I wanted a lower line, and even the manager said she personally liked a higher one, and so on. The doctor didn’t reflect my preferences at all and just marked it high, so I was scared it might go wrong if I left it to them..
What I felt The consultation didn’t even last 10 minutes.. From my point of view, the whole consultation felt insincere. It didn’t feel like a real back-and-forth conversation; maybe because they talked only about their own points and didn’t listen to me.
The consultation manager was nice, so I went into the doctor consultation in a good mood, but I came out discouraged.. Because I had thought going to the hospital would improve things, but then I started wondering if all hospitals are this perfunctory and if I need to be born again.. It was evening, and even my appetite just dropped.
To get to the point, when I said I came because of asymmetrical eyes, they said everyone has asymmetrical eyes and not to think it would become a dramatic change. The whole consultation time was spent on whether the asymmetry was severe or not. They said I should think it would improve a little, but isn’t that exactly what I was saying...? Were they just trying to say my eyes are too complicated and difficult to operate on..? The consultation itself was cursory. They didn’t grasp my needs either..
At the beginning they drew a line to see what they thought, and there was no conversation about what kind of line I would get, such as the height or shape. When I asked when they would tell me what line shape and height they would choose, they said they’d tell me on the day of surgery. Huh? If they draw it now, I can decide whether or not to go ahead..
When I asked about the line height, they said to match the size of the bigger eye among the asymmetrical eyes.. My left eye has weak opening strength, but they were going to make it follow an even bigger line..? When I asked whether a smaller line would make opening easier, they only then said yes. They said they would match the smaller side’s line. Since I said I didn’t like a high line, they said they could follow a lower line or create a new line. It would have been nice if they had said that from the start, but they seemed like they wanted to finish the consultation quickly, and only answered reluctantly when I asked.
They even stopped talking midway and went out, so when I asked the manager, “Does the doctor have something urgent?” she said 10 minutes of consultation was already a lot. They were also using a toothpick to scratch the desk while talking, which felt pretty unhygienic when drawing the line on my eye.
I consulted with Dr. Lee Min-cheol, and I was thinking about whether to get another consultation with the chief doctor, but I didn’t go. It was a place I went to with high expectations because of good online reviews, but I came back only disappointed.. By now, I’m even suspicious of the online reviews..
