Doctor consultation: First of all, the doctor’s personality seemed very good. Throughout the consultation, the atmosphere was gentle, and the doctor responded with an appropriate amount of wit, so personally it was comfortable to ask questions. It was a little disappointing that the doctor didn’t show a huge variety of lines, but still, because they showed what would be the most natural and feasible within my current eye condition, it looked like it suited my face well. Since the starting lines of both eyes are currently completely different, the doctor recommended an upper epicanthoplasty to bring out the front line, saying that would likely allow the in-out lines on both sides to come out most naturally. And I already felt I needed surgery for lower eyelid entropion, but the doctor also strongly recommended it haha. Rather, they asked why I had left it untreated until now and whether it wasn’t too uncomfortable, so it felt like the doctor was empathetic? Maybe because there was a consultation fee, but the doctor’s consultation alone took about 20 minutes, and overall it was one of the more satisfying consultations.
Consultant consultation: Before the doctor’s consultation, I got the impression that the consultant looked at my eye condition in more detail than other clinics. Of course, they said the doctor would make the accurate diagnosis, but they even touched and checked everything from skin thickness to eye shape. They did speak a bit fast, but they were considerate and checked from time to time whether there was anything I had missed in my notes during the consultation. There was no pressure to book surgery, but when I asked whether the double eyelid surgery and lower eyelid entropion surgery could be done separately because doing both together would be financially burdensome, they mentioned the recovery period and gave the nuance that it would be better to do both surgeries together if possible.
Disappointing points: I understand the consultation fee, but it felt like there were small extra charges here and there? (preparing documents, treatment fees, etc.) Also, among the places I’ve consulted at so far, even looking only at double eyelid surgery, there was a separate event price, but the regular price was on the quite high side. And although after surgery you can receive swelling laser treatment whenever you want until stitch removal, after that there is no separate aftercare, which was very disappointing.
