Eye Surgery Considerations

AB Community Review

I had my first epicanthoplasty/lateral canthoplasty and nose surgery at AB. I was going to give one point for doctor kindness, but the director who did my eye canthoplasty was so kind that I gave two.

1. The director who did my nose appears kind on YouTube, but in reality was extremely cynical. Later, when I mentioned areas where I didn’t see improvement in the shape, the response was like, “I don’t see it?”

2. The consultant and Director Sung, who did my eyes, were very kind.

3. Revision issue: They first told me to come to the clinic, and at first said they would only charge the anesthesia fee, but then said there would be additional charges depending on the materials and tried in every way not to do the revision, saying it looked fine now. In the end, because of trust issues, I got the revision elsewhere.

4. They said they would only use septal cartilage for my nose, but I found out there that they had used donated costal cartilage. Before surgery, I had told my friend and guardian that they said they would use only septal cartilage, so I know that was what had been said. The hospital insisted otherwise, but I had no evidence, so I didn’t argue further and kept quiet. I also asked them to make sure the nasal tip didn’t turn up, but they made my nostrils visible, which stressed me out, so I had revision surgery somewhere else.

The consultant in charge had also quit. It’s a place that’s so different from YouTube. Of course, what I had done is prettier than before.
