For a long time, I was really severely stressed about having short, clam-like eyes. My eyes were big vertically, but the look I wanted was an almond shape that was long horizontally and slightly cat-like, so in daily life, subtly, and especially when taking photos, every time I became conscious of my face, I felt a huge amount of stress. People with severe short eyes will know. No matter how well you do canthoplasty-style makeup, it only looks pretty from the front; if you tilt your head even a little or are under strong lighting, especially with the rear camera, because there is inevitably no three-dimensionality, it shows ve~ry obviously. It even looks more stuffy because of the makeup. The fact that the makeup gets heavier to cover the eye length is a bonus. People around me all tried to stop me, saying it would reattach and that I looked fine without it, but in the end, after doing a lot of online research, I saw confidence in the reviews and surgical method, so right after the consultation I booked surgery for the earliest available date. Because it was a method where lateral + lower canthoplasty are done together, they clearly told me that cat-like eyes could not be achieved. Both the consultant and the director clearly distinguished what effects they were confident about, what was not possible, side effects, and so on, so rather, it gave me a lot of trust. My impression didn’t change into an overly puppy-like eye shape as I had worried, and the canthoplasty opened my eyes refreshingly within the limits of my own eyes. It’s not the long, sharply extended eyes I had dreamed of, but as someone who had been stressed my whole life over short eyes, my satisfaction is very, very high However, the recovery period is quite long and it interferes with daily life. I was told that conjunctival edema occurs in almost all cases, and for me it was quite severe and lasted a long time, so even after the stitches were removed, my eyes wouldn’t close for a while because of the swelling. Bruising and swelling were also not minimal. This point seems to vary a lot by person Other than that, I’m extremely satisfied in every way. It’s been about 1 year since surgery, and there’s nothing in particular that I’d call a side effect. My dry eye syndrome was already severe, so maybe I just don’t notice it. It was the second surgery of my life, but for my first surgery I went with my parents, and since this was my first surgery alone, I was extremely nervous despite proceeding very quickly. But the director was very friendly and had a father-like impression, so I think I received a lot of emotional comfort. Even considering the pain of the recovery period, it’s a surgery I’m so satisfied with that I would get it again if I went back.
