I had surgery without an implant one month ago. (columellar strut with ear cartilage, postauricular fascia on the nasal bridge between the eyebrows, nasolabial angle surgery)
First, I felt that the doctor was kind. Even though I repeatedly asked similar questions about alar reduction, he responded well. I could see his depth of experience and expertise while reading the columns he wrote on his blog, and it was the same during the consultation.
The nurse also had long experience assisting in the operating room, so she seemed to have a lot of medical knowledge and was kind. (As far as I know, there isn’t a separate consultant, and the nurse handles that as well. This part felt convincing.) However, maybe because they were busy, when I called the clinic, there were quite a few times when she was in surgery.. When I went for follow-up checks, because of the next client, I couldn’t ask my questions and ended up leaving somewhat hurriedly. (She is definitely not someone who would get annoyed just because I asked. I think my personality is the problem)
Clinic facilities Personally, the interior felt comfortable and warm to me. The operating room was relatively small, but it didn’t look dirty or anything like that at all. Rather, I liked it because it had a distinctive design where I could feel the director’s philosophy more than in a standardized clinic.
Surgical expectations
I trusted the director’s experience and aesthetic sense and left it entirely to him without making any special requests (Still, I think people who are going to have surgery should really mention the key points they want improved)
In conclusion, I’m generally satisfied. I do have some regret that I wish it had been a slightly more masculine, straighter nose, but my nostrils have narrowed a lot and my impression feels cleaner. Since it’s still only one month, I believe time will take care of the residual swelling and the slightly upturned nasal tip. I think I’ll be even more satisfied once it settles, However, the alar reduction scars are quite noticeable.. (The director told me about this in advance, that scars would definitely remain..!)
Regrets
I went for follow-up checks a total of 5 times on days 1, 3, 5, 4, and 14. But the nurse removed the stitches and disinfected, and the director only came in briefly. (There were also days I didn’t see him.) Subjectively, it didn’t feel like they checked the progress in great detail. Actually, because I hadn’t made any major separate requests to the doctor, at my last visit on day 14 I had hoped he would say something like “It turned out as expected,” but he didn’t make any comments at all about the appearance, so even though I was personally satisfied, I felt a bit uneasy.. Like, “If it went well, shouldn’t he tell me..?” But I think this may just be his style, and he seems very busy, so I understand.
Overall, I’m satisfied!
