While looking into calf contouring surgery for my complex, I came across a YouTube video by Cho Young-shin, a doctor in family medicine, and went to see him. Back when it was Young Clinic, I did feel that the hospital had far too few staff and no real system in place, but I was taken in by the doctor’s particular way of speaking. Even though the price was absurd compared with other hospitals, I decided to go ahead with the surgery, hoping that since it was for my body, I should pay more if needed and have it done by someone who would do it properly.
The conclusion is that it was a nightmare. Usually these procedures are done under sedation, but here they made me buy the anesthetic medication myself from a pharmacy, take it, and undergo surgery while in a dazed state. Not only was the surgical process horrifying, but the hospital itself was old and had no hygiene management at all, so from after the surgery onward, I had to suffer for months from inflammation, severe high fever, and pain. Leaving the aesthetic result aside, I contacted the hospital because I wondered whether I would have to have my leg amputated, but it was hard to reach them. I finally got through and visited the hospital, but they did not provide proper follow-up care, and I did not hear a single word of apology. At the time, there was another patient at the hospital besides me who had been summoned by the police, so I was disgusted and no longer even wanted any compensation.
Of course, the size did not decrease, and I only suffered from pain. Later, I had an ultrasound at another hospital, and I was told that the condition of my legs was terrible. Even though only calf nerve blocking had been done on the calves, the adhesions were so severe that they were difficult to treat, and although I had knee fat grafting, there were four areas with severe scarring, yet a lot of fat still remained. Because I suffered so much from inflammation, even though I had paid a large amount for surgery for cosmetic improvement, I could not even think about aesthetic improvement and only hoped to recover my health safely. I feel pathetic for that.
I hope no more people are harmed by Director Cho Young-shin.
I think people need to know that while YouTube can have the positive function of promoting skilled doctors, it can also have the negative function of allowing an unskilled doctor to deceive people through words alone. (I am someone who really hates writing posts like this, but I deliberately signed up to leave this post.)
