I didn’t have a desired eye shape, and I went to consultations after deciding what parts I wanted to fix
Clinic 1 From the moment I talked with the consultant, they were clear about what was possible and what wasn’t The doctor also carefully touched my eyes and looked at the line and first told me we should only do exactly as much surgery as I wanted, so my trust went up enormously
Clinic 2 It had the most clients out of all the clinics I went to for consultations, and the wait was so long that I wondered why consultation appointments even exist But the doctor was so busy that they seemed restless, kept spinning the chair around, didn’t even look at my eyes, and just kept saying they would make the kind of eyes they pursue They recommended a lot of surgeries, and when they told me to get lateral canthoplasty without even checking the bone around my eyes, I just ruled it out I didn’t even want to ask anything, and I didn’t want to get surgery from someone like that, so I just left
Clinic 3 They had a very strong sense of pride, and honestly I had started my consultations with my mind 90% set on doing it at this clinic But during the consultation, we kept failing to communicate with each other The doctor would ask what eye shape I wanted, and I kept saying I didn’t have one and that I wanted to fix these parts, over and over Then maybe they got frustrated, because they told me to come back after properly learning what that surgery is, and I was just completely dumbfounded If I could understand all the surgeries and predict all the results from explanations on YouTube or the internet, why would I spend time going to consultations? The more I think about it, the more unpleasant it feels, and communication didn’t go well either, so I gave up on this clinic too
Clinic 4 The conclusion was almost the same as Clinic 1 They recommended only the exact areas that would be good to do, and for things that wouldn’t work, they cut it off clearly and explained precisely, like “it would look like this and might not be great, are you really okay with that?”
In conclusion, I’m deciding between Clinics 1 and 4, and I’m not even considering 2 and 3 But Clinics 1 and 4, and Clinics 2 and 3, had similar patterns in how the doctors behaved In 1 and 4, the doctors who looked at my eyes, observed them, and touched them in different ways recommended against the same surgeries, and after they had already thought through in their heads what might work here and there, they asked me where I wanted to do. They were people who could listen to what the patient wanted and what kind of feel they wanted, then give feedback The clinics 2 and 3 that recommended lots of surgery also said in between that honestly it wasn’t severe, while continuing to tell me to touch this and that, which was really... I have more to say, but it feels too long-winded, so I’ll stop here
