Review of Revision Surgery After Partial Incision

This is a review of having the surgery loosened at the first hospital and then having revision surgery there. I had buried stitches for double eyelids and ptosis correction, and around the 2-month mark or maybe the 3-month mark—I don’t remember exactly—even after that much time had passed, the line was still really thick and swollen, like it had only been a week since surgery, so I held out as long as I could and finally went back to complain. Even when I closed my eyes, it was puffy, like it had been tied with thread. People around me kept saying things like, “You know, it takes years for a double eyelid line to settle,” and tried to comfort me with that... I was so depressed and wondered how I was supposed to live with these eyes that, honestly, I just burst into tears while talking. I had been dreaming of a career where I’d be seen in front of others... But at first, the hospital said that as I had signed the consent form before surgery, dissatisfaction with the line could not be covered by free aftercare. Still, I kept talking and arguing, and the director said they would release it that day first, and then for the next revision, if it was the same surgical method it would be free, and if an incisional method was used, only the cost of that would be charged. Almost a year after the first surgery, I eventually had incisional surgery again. During the consultation, I emphasized over and over that I wanted it to look as natural as possible. And... now, about two months later, it really does look natural. The two eyes are actually a little uneven, but... my eyes originally had different shapes anyway, so I accept that there’s nothing I can do and I’m satisfied. For now, I’m happy that the natural look I wanted most was achieved. Still, now that it’s like this, I can feel a little greed creeping in, thinking maybe it would have been better if the line had been just a bit higher. When I had no double eyelids, I thought it would be nice if my eyes just looked a little clearer, but now that I’m standing on the boundary between an inner double eyelid and an in-line style, I definitely want a distinct outer double eyelid. Still, that’s a spoiled complaint. Thinking back to a year ago, I’m scared thinking that if I hadn’t had the double eyelid line released then, would I really be who I am now? It was truly an experience that made me realize cosmetic surgery is nothing to take lightly, and that careful thought has to come first.
