Since I was young, I had monolids and my eyes were on the smaller side, but I didn’t really have a complex about my eyes, so I never thought at all that I should get double eyelids or ptosis correction. But after becoming an adult, as I spent more time sitting at a desk and looking at my phone often, my left eyelid started drooping and ptosis symptoms appeared. Unless I used my forehead muscles and consciously opened my eyes wide, I couldn’t see my field of vision well..ㅜ It was uncomfortable, and cosmetically, only one eye was drooping so the balance was off, so I decided I should have surgery.

In my case, I didn’t need to look for a place to have surgery; I decided to have surgery at the plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam where my younger sibling also had surgery. In my younger sibling’s case, even before 1 month had passed after surgery, the result was very natural, clear, and well done, so I trusted the clinic enough that I didn’t need to search cafes or reviewsㅎ

So in mid-March, I went to the plastic surgery clinic located on the 4th floor of Santa Hong Medical Tower, 109 Bongeunsa-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The desk staff were kind, and the facility was bright and clean. Above all, they showed me well the before-and-after comparison photos and review videos, which made me trust the surgery a lot, and after seeing the director’s background and experience, I thought I had done well to come.

After consulting with the director, we decided to proceed with epicanthoplasty and incisional inner double eyelid surgery. I did not want an outer double eyelid to form, and because I wanted it to look as natural as possible without obvious signs of surgery, I told the doctor that. The doctor also said that seemed better, and I went into surgery with excitement. The surgery was done under local anesthesia, so aside from slight stinging, there was really no pain or suffering at all. The doctor’s technique was also very good, so it finished quickly in under 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I tend to swell easily, so of course I thought it would take quite some time for the swelling to go down after surgery, but surprisingly, there was no swelling at all immediately after surgery. For about 1 week, I had some restrictions because water couldn’t get into my eyes, but I followed the staff’s instructions, did warm compresses well, and applied the ointment properly. Within that 1 week, all the stitches were removed, and after all the tape attached to my eyes was removed within 2 weeks, the result was so natural that you couldn’t tell whether I had surgery or not. Most of all, it was really good that I could see clearly without consciously opening my left eye wide. People around me also said it turned out well, to the point that they said my eyes seemed slightly bigger after surgery but they couldn’t really tell whether I had surgery or not, so I was very happy. After a month, I went back to the clinic to check the progress and saw the doctor, and the doctor also said it turned out really well, and I was grateful too. It was a truly satisfying surgery, and if anyone is thinking about eye surgery, I definitely want to recommend this plastic surgery clinicㅎㅎ
