I didn't want to have revision surgery, so this is the clinic I found after searching around online a lot.
They do a lot of reconstructions, specialize in lateral canthoplasty, and after seeing the surgery videos on Instagram, I trusted them even more. For lateral canthoplasty, I wanted to open it as much as possible within safe limits.
The goal of surgery was an overall gentler impression and clear enlargement.
My epicanthal folds in the front were deep, and the outer corners were rather upturned. I think it was an uncommon case. No matter what reviews I looked at, there wasn't anyone whose epicanthal folds were as deep as mine..
I thought my eyes would definitely benefit from lateral canthoplasty, and the problem was that the front epicanthal folds were very deep downward. Even if the back was opened, the angle of the inner corner was angled downward, so I thought I definitely had to do medial epicanthoplasty too.
Since the space between my eyes is on the narrow side, I wanted it done so my eyes wouldn't look too close together, absolutely not overdone, and only to the extent of slightly reducing the epicanthal folds.
After consulting with the doctor, they understood my needs exactly!!! Maybe because they have a lot of surgical experience, it wasn't factory-style and they customized it for me, so I trusted them a lot haha
Also, I have quite a lot of fat under my eyes, but it wasn't that one specific area was bulging out; it was overall fullness that made it look swollen. They said this part needed under-eye fat removal, and even their honesty in saying the cost-effectiveness might not be great... made me trust them... haha As they said, this part raised the cost, and although the effect isn't huge, I think I'm glad I did it together.
Lateral canthoplasty isn't simply lowering the eyes; it opens them sideways/backward, so when viewed from the side, the enlarged part is significant! Thanks to that, my impression also became a bit gentler. My satisfaction with the appearance is really, really high! It definitely improved.
Until the stitches were removed, conjunctival edema was worse than I expected, and even after the stitches were removed, dry eyes are still continuing! If anything has changed from before surgery.. it's that artificial tears became a must-have item...! It feels like my vision temporarily worsened..
