On the day I came out after surgery, I was so worried that the swelling seemed uneven, so I posted in a community. Everyone told me it was okay and not to worry, so I received a lot of comfort. To reduce the swelling, I tried drinking pumpkin juice and went on walks diligently.... I worked so hard to reduce the swelling that I wondered if I had ever been this dedicated to anything in my life ... Now a month has passed, the swelling has gone down to some extent, and I remembered the comfort I received in that community back then, so with gratitude, I’m embarrassed, but I’m writing this review ...
The reason I decided to have surgery was actually more because, as I got older, opening my eyes felt heavier and more frustrating than for aesthetic reasons. Eyes are definitely an important part of a person’s impression, and because my eyes felt heavy to open, I was always frowning, so it upset me that people meeting me for the first time would misunderstand me for no reason ... But there were also many people around me who thought, “Why would a man get double eyelid surgery?” so honestly, I hadn’t even considered surgery ...
Then one day, I thought a little kid I made eye contact with on the street was cute, so I smiled once, and the kid started crying ... I wondered if my impression looked that unpleasant, and it was a bit upsetting ... While drinking, a friend heard my concern and said that he had actually had double eyelid surgery too (I couldn’t tell at all because it didn’t show) and recommended a clinic, so I had a consultation there and proceeded with surgery ...
They said my forehead is on the compressed side... So they said that to solve the root cause, I would also need a forehead lift, but I didn’t have that much money ... So for now, I decided to just do my eyes this time ... I said I really disliked a greasy-looking result and asked them to make it look natural ... I wanted to look like someone with an inner double eyelid whose eyes look clear and defined ...
But haven’t people been saying double eyelid surgery is cheap these days ... I was only getting double eyelid surgery, but it was more expensive than I expected. Still, what could I do ... I figured there must be a reason and went ahead with it... The director’s consultation was quite thorough ... The consultant was also very pretty ...
On the day of surgery, honestly, maybe because I was shaking so much, I don’t remember the details ... The feeling of going under sedation felt like riding a roller coaster and dropping from far away ... I don’t want to experience it again, and it was such a strange feeling ... The surgery wasn’t as painful as I expected ... Getting the injection hurt the mostㅠ I looked in the mirror that day, and the swelling looked so uneven... The eye line somehow looked high, so I thought it might look too intense... I was extremely worried. I posted at that time, and everyone comforted me by saying it would be okay once the swelling went down, so I think I felt a bit relieved ...
At first, I wondered if the swelling was going down too slowly, but after the stitches were removed, thankfully, from then on it went down quickly ... Now that it has been a month, the major swelling is all gone, and currently I’m satisfied to some extent ... First of all, the strength to open my eyes has improved functionally too, not like before when I had to force them open, and I like that my overall impression looks gentler ... Looking at the before-and-after photos like this, I think the power of medicine is amazing ...
Now that I’ve written it, it feels closer to my venting than a surgical review ... Still, thank you for reading.
