(Edited): 2020.02.02 I found a clearer pre-op photo, so I revised the pre-op photo.
I had it done exactly around this time one year ago, and since I live outside the area, I had the surgery in Busan. I saw a Facebook video where a high school girl changed completely for the better, checked the information in the comments, and went thinking this was definitely the place, but there were a lot of people there. For reference, getting nose filler in Daegu was my first experience with plastic surgery (there weren’t many people there; maybe because it was a dermatology + plastic surgery clinic??), and Busan was my second.
My distance between the eyes was originally quite wide. I don’t remember exactly, but I remember the glabella/intercanthal distance being around 4.5 cm. When I said I only wanted epicanthoplasty, they said the effect would be limited and recommended doing double eyelid surgery together too, so I was tempted for a moment. But I had always really, really, really, really, really hated the idea of getting double eyelids, so I focused fundamentally on just reducing the distance between my eyes and asked them to do only epicanthoplasty.
The consultant recommended several times that I do it together with double eyelid surgery, but said there was no price difference (epicanthoplasty cost = epicanthoplasty + double eyelid surgery cost). Still, I asked for only epicanthoplasty. The major swelling lasted about 2 days, and I think the minor swelling lasted until 2 months. There was a slight bruise on one eye, and it felt like it didn’t go away easily, so it lasted about 20 days? I think. (I didn’t apply a separate bruise cream or anything like that, just kept applying eye ointment.) The major swelling went down really quickly, and the minor swelling lasted a bit longer, but at the time I didn’t realize there was minor swelling lol. I thought it was all gone, but when I look at photos from then now, it feels like there was still swelling.
As a result, I’m satisfied now. I have no intention of touching my eyes anymore, and I think it turned out well and I’m happy with it. I was really lucky that I didn’t shop around and ended up satisfied at one place..ㅜ If you have anything you’re curious about, I’ll answer if I see it.
