Hi everyone~ I got double eyelid surgery I'm on day 2 now, and I'm more swollen and bruised than I expected I think it'll be okay once the swelling goes down It's fascinating that after ptosis correction, my eyes open well
1) Why I chose the clinic I started going around for consultations around last October I went to consultations at many famous places, but the place I liked most was too expensive, and they said natural adhesion was possible but recommended incision, so I passed on that one.. The consultation with Director ㅇㅇㅎ at ㅇㅁㄷ was average, but the reason I chose this place was that when I looked at blog, cafe, and community reviews, the swelling seemed the least and even photos taken without an app looked pretty So I chose it, but I swelled up a lot and bruised a lot too. As expected, it seems to vary by person and by individual constitution
2) Surgery day (I'll write in stream-of-consciousness order) 2-1) Before surgery The surgery was at 10, and they told me to come by 9:45 I arrived around 9:40, they checked my ID and told me to wait a bit After waiting a bit, they told me to change clothes, so I went to change Maybe because of lost items, they said there was CCTV in the area where you wash your face and store your belongings, so they told me to go inside the curtain (?) and change clothes I washed my face squeaky clean, and since I wear contact lenses, we decided I would keep my lenses in when the director marked the line, then take them out before surgery I put my things properly in a locker with a password, had photos taken (for records), and went into the room for consultation with the director I signed the consent form with the consultant, and she asked how much I can drink (she said it was because of the sleep anesthesia drug dosage) She said the director would come soon and to wait a little, but I forgot and didn't bring my phone... so I just sat there blankly There was a painting of a flowering almond tree in the consultation room, so I thought, is that an almond? Then while thinking about it, I realized the surgical gown was blue too I started having all sorts of random thoughts like, oh, does the director like the almond tree painting, so the clothes are blue too? I was bored, so I looked at the before-and-after surgery book, and then the director came in The director marked the line for me and said we would do a natural in-out line So I said yes, and I chose a photo I liked among the before-and-after photos, but he said, ah, this line is a bit high So I said ah, yes, and the director marked it again Then he asked whether I wanted dissolvable stitches or stitches that need removal for the epicanthoplasty, so I said dissolvable stitches But he told me that with dissolvable stitches, sometimes about one stitch may not dissolve So I asked what to do then, and he said to come back after 3 weeks to have it removed He kind of talked quickly and left. I was going to mention something I was worried about, but he left fast so I couldn't After the director left, a staff member came and told me to go take out my lenses So I took out my lenses, went to the restroom, and came back
2-2) Going to surgery A staff member said, now we'll go to the operating room, so I said okay and followed along When I got there, the two nurses were so~~ kind. Honestly, the consultant and the staff at the clinic didn't really feel especially kind or warm, but both nurses were very kind and warm They said the surgery would be over in 20 minutes and wouldn't hurt, asked if I had any discomfort or if I was cold, and I think calm music was playing too. When I lay down, the operating table wasn't cold and was actually very warm I worried about every possible thing What if the ptosis correction is overcorrected, what if the epicanthoplasty is done too much, my eyes are originally uneven so what if they turn out weird, what if the sleep anesthesia doesn't work and I feel pain, what if I say nonsense. While I was thinking all that, the director came in He drew the lines on my face with a marker and showed me once more, saying this is how we'll do it Then he scribbled marks quickly I said my eyes are slightly uneven, so please match them well. The director said he would try to do it well Then I lay down, and I think I just fell asleep. I feel like someone may have told me to wake up;; I don't really remember. I just fell asleep
2-3) After surgery They took me to the recovery room and told me to sit, so I sat, and they placed a cold eye mask over my eyes I think I was only there for a very short time, but the director came, checked once, and left I don't think he said it went well.. he just looked and left... After a little while they told me to get up. So I got up half-asleep, and when I went out they showed me a printed sheet of precautions, explained it briefly, and gave me an eye mask for compresses It was finished by 11:30, so I came out I sat in the consultation chair briefly, then went out to the pharmacy, ate lunch, and went home I went home alone by subway~~
Also, I booked the consultation through a consultation app, and when I applied for the app event, they gave me a pumpkin juice kit. Try applying for this~~~ The contents are really decent haha
I'm on day 2 now, getting some cold air, taking walks, drinking pumpkin juice, and resting~~ But I have to go to work, and my eyes look so scary... I feel like people will run away... Hope this helps. If you have questions, ask in the comments~~~
