Before/after After my first surgery, my double eyelid came undone, so I had revision surgery at the same hospital… For me, I prioritized hospitals that do a lot of revision surgeries and specialize in eyes:) When I went around to 3-4 places for consultations before my first surgery, they all said it would be good to do ptosis correction and medial epicanthoplasty together, so I had an in-out line double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, and medial epicanthoplasty together. In the end, I had it done at ㅇㄹㅇㅇ. When I went for the consultation, maybe because it was a small clinic, there was no wait. Both the director and the consultation manager were very kind. I don’t remember the exact price, but I think it was somewhere between 2.5 and 2.6 million won. It was the most expensive among the places I visited. But there was no offer like “we’ll give you a discount if you write a review,” so I actually liked that better!
During surgery, they only used sleep anesthesia at the beginning, then woke me up midway to adjust things like the line, and it really, really, really, really hurt. I usually tolerate pain well, but I could feel the needle sensation so clearly, and with that laser(?) they were burning a thread or something, and it stung so much When I first had it done, it hurt so much that while I was getting it, I thought, “I can never do this again,” but then I ended up winning revision surgery, haha… During the revision, it was more tolerable than the first time, but it was not painless. Personally, I think the pain during surgery was worse than the pain after surgery…
After my first surgery, I think it gradually started coming undone from around 2-3 months later. Right before the revision, my right eye had completely become a monolid, and only the back part remained on the left… From week 2, I had definitely asked for an in-out line, but the front line didn’t go in, so it became a semi-out line. I went for a consultation, and they said it would go in once the swelling went down, so I trusted them and waited..^^ The medial epicanthoplasty was done really just right. The ptosis correction also definitely made it easier to open my eyes.
They did the revision surgery for free (they said it is free aftercare for 10 years), and I feel like they paid more attention this time. This is the condition of my eyes now, about two months later. I think the swelling still hasn’t fully gone down. My swelling usually doesn’t go away easily.. Even now, the front of my left eye still feels a bit unstable, but I think it will settle in once the swelling goes down. It doesn’t have that precarious feeling from before.
