I had been consistently interested in facial contouring, and in 2018 I had 3-part cheekbone reduction (front, side, 45-degree). Since the surgery was done under anesthesia, of course it didn't hurt, and when I woke up from anesthesia and came to my senses, my face just felt hot and numb. It wasn't like, wow, this hurts so much. My throat actually hurt more.. I know that during surgery they insert some kind of tube into the throat, maybe because of anesthesia or breathing, and I guess that caused a wound in my throat. So for 1-2 days after surgery, I had bloody phlegm and some nosebleeds. There was really no pain during the surgery and recovery process! When opening my mouth, it felt stiff so I could only open it a little, about that much..?
Now after 1 year, no, from the moment the swelling went down, I could see that my cheeks had sagged a bit. They haven't sagged further from there, and even now, 1 year later, the cheek sagging is the same as what I saw right after the swelling went down, so I'm looking for a solution. It's really not like they're drooping heavily like a bulldog. They sagged slightly, enough that only I find it bothersome.
I don't have major regrets. But you always need to expect cheek sagging. Even if the clinic says that they fracture the cheekbones and fix them again a little higher, so there is almost no cheek sagging, you still need to prepare yourself mentally.
