I had surgery this afternoon and came back. Starting with the consultation review, it went in the order of consultant-director-consultant, and the consultant was the best out of all the hospitals I’ve been to so far. Overall, the director also took one look and said it would be good to correct this and that. However, the consultation was too fast and hectic. Maybe he had surgery afterward, because he left in a rush when he went out too. Still, he understood what I wanted well.
To describe my nose, First of all, I have no nasal bridge at all. I’m not exaggerating, it’s just nonexistent. There was absolutely no nasal bridge between my two dark pupils, so when I rubbed my eyes, there was nothing for my hand to get caught on; it was a free pass.
So I had slight nasal bridge/hump refinement + supplementation of the low nasal bridge + correction of the slightly upturned-looking nostrils from the front. + sedation anesthesia (I’m not really the type with a hump, so I wondered whether refinement was necessary, but they said it had to be refined because a customized implant would be inserted.)
My septal cartilage isn’t particularly small, but my nose itself is small and short, so they used ear cartilage, and a customized silicone implant was placed in the bridge. My face isn’t flashy, so it absolutely had to be natural. I strongly felt that a dramatic nose wouldn’t suit my face.
On the day of surgery, I didn’t see the consultant and went straight to the surgery floor. He marked the implant starting point between my eyes with a marker and said the implant would go here and that we’d lower the nasal tip just a little. He said he would only make sure it didn’t look upturned. (I had said absolutely no arrow-shaped nose or upturned nose.) Then someone other than the consultation consultant came in and had me sign. They said CCTV is installed, but because they use a closed network, it cannot be recorded or viewed.
When I went in for surgery, the anesthesia assistants put an IV? on the back of my hand. They told me the lights were bright, so to keep my eyes closed. I asked, “When will the director come in?” and they said, “He’ll be in soon~.” These people also seemed busy and rushed. I was lying down with my eyes closed and heard them; I think there were about 3 to 4 people, and one of them said something like “septal revision?” so the others said no. This is my first surgery, so are they confusing me with another patient? Maybe because everything was moving so busily, it looked hectic, so I got worried for no reason. They said they were about to start sedation anesthesia and asked if I had any final questions, so I said, “When the director comes, please make sure to ask him to make it natural.”
After about 2 hours of surgery, I came out, rested, and was discharged. There’s something like a pillar? cotton? in my nose, so I’m going tomorrow to have it removed. Small amounts of blood keep coming out, so I blocked it with gauze. They said this amount of bleeding is normal, so I’m not too worried, but whew... I really hope it came out well.
