My lips aren’t exactly small, and my lower lip is on the plump side, I don’t know what suddenly got into me, but I became jealous of the way celebrities’ mouth corners naturally lift when they smile brightly. After a frantic search, I ended up going to a hospital in Seomyeon, Busan, that had a lot of word-of-mouth hype? (or maybe it was brokers). I waited that day for a consultation and then went straight into the procedure.
I just left it in the doctor’s hands and went home, but oh no, it didn’t suit me at all! I wondered if it might be swelling, so I waited a few days, but the condition didn’t change. It looked so unnatural, and because of the mouth-corner filler, the horizontal length became longer, so maybe the balance was thrown off, but it gave off a strong slit-mouth Mask Girl vibe.
On top of that, the important thing is that I became absurdly uglier, and it looked like artificial Hollywood-side-effect actor lips.... Daily life was hard, so before even a week had passed, I went back to the hospital and had it dissolved right away. That day I swore there would never be lip filler again in my life.....
After getting the procedure, I thought carefully about why that happened. Mouth-corner filler works by injecting filler inside so that the ends of the lips look flipped outward and lifted, so there’s no way the horizontal length won’t increase. For people whose mouths are naturally small, it may not cause much harm, but for people who already have a large mouth, it can look like the mouth is split. In the end, it was a filler that didn’t suit me...
And as an aside, when a doctor has had a lot of facial procedures and looks unnatural, that design often gets projected onto clients too, so they tend to recommend something a bit excessive. The 3 doctors I’ve experienced so far were all the same. I prefer a natural look, so if I encounter that in the future, I’m going to avoid it, because my face is precious.
