9 years ago, when I was immature, I thought it would be good as long as it was a big hospital, so without much thought, I had buried-suture double eyelid surgery + medial/lateral canthoplasty at a hospital near Gangnam Station.
My eyes were naturally very short, so even after the medial/lateral canthoplasty, the eye length was still short, and once double eyelids were created on short eyes, even though the double eyelids were made extremely extremely thin, they ended up looking like tiny clam eyes?! dog eyes?! They became that intense, wide-eyed, overwhelming kind of look.
So not long after, I immediately had surgery to undo the buried sutures and removed the double eyelids. However, after that, I ended up with uneven double eyelids. Actually, this line used to appear occasionally even before double eyelid surgery, so I think it probably would have appeared eventually even if I had not had buried-suture surgery or anything like that. So I decided to worry less about this part for now.
However, because of the medial canthoplasty scar and the D-shaped lateral canthoplasty, I am currently considering revision surgery.
For the medial canthoplasty, it was opened in a rounded shape to create a softer impression, but I didn’t like that the scar became large and that this rounded medial canthoplasty seems to give a slightly plastic-surgery-face feeling. And these days, IU’s sharp inner eye corners look so pretty to me..
Still, the medial canthoplasty does not cause functional discomfort, but in the case of the lateral canthoplasty, when I open my eyes wide, the back of my eyes sometimes feels cold/stinging, and while lowering the outer corners, they removed the white membrane(?) of the eye, so for a while after surgery, I could not see clearly. Also, maybe because I’m getting older, I feel like outer eye corners that sweep slightly upward look younger and edgier, so I want to change them that way too.
Anyway, I wish I had researched all three surgeries better before proceeding, so I have so many regrets ㅠㅠ Of course, my impression did improve compared with before ㅜ So before getting revision surgery this time, I want to get a lot of information from this community. As much as I receive, I’ll repay it afterward with a good review!
