Originally, one of my eyes had a thin inline double eyelid, and the other was an uneven eye that was more like a monolid with a hidden double eyelid. They were uneven, but when looking at each eye separately, I liked both of them (they weren’t huge eyes, but they weren’t small either.. haha) They were really difficult eyes to do makeup on, so from my 20s, for a full 10 years, I only kept debating whether or not to get double eyelid surgery.. lol I hesitated so much because I was afraid that touching them unnecessarily might actually make them look worse.. haha Then suddenly I got really into it, and at the end of December I searched hospitals like crazy, decided I would get surgery sometime in January no matter what, narrowed it down to 4 clinics where consultation appointments were available, and went to all of them! (All in the Gangnam area) What I wanted was natural adhesion if possible, and I was open to considering canthoplasty if multiple directors said I needed it, but I wanted to avoid it unless it was really necessary. I wanted to preserve my original eyes as much as possible, correct the unevenness, and just make them look clearer.
1. ㅅㅇㅇ Plastic Surgery The consultant was kind, the director was kind, the clinic was clean, and I liked everything. During the consultation, the consultant looked at my eye condition and explained various surgeries in different directions so I could consider this and that, and left a lot open so I could discuss the details with the director and decide (it felt like the fine line between sales and detailed explanation.. lol) The director seemed to match my needs very well. He didn’t recommend unnecessary things, pointed out exactly what I wanted, and explained my questions in detail. Above all, he tried many different lines and seemed to be trying to understand in detail what I wanted, so I really liked that, and the lines he made were pretty too.
2. ㄴㅅㅎ Plastic Surgery This was the place where the consultation ended the fastest.. The consultant was kind and the director was straightforward, but it didn’t quite match the direction I wanted for my eyes. He recommended upper canthoplasty.. but at the first clinic, they said it probably wasn’t really necessary, so I decided to hear from other places too and think a bit more about canthoplasty.
3. ㅇㅇㅌ Plastic Surgery Clean clinic! Kind consultant! Kind director! The director felt the most.. like a real doctor..? Anyway, I liked him hahaha. While I was waiting, they prepared tea and refreshments so prettily and thoughtfully that my fickle heart already started to waver lol The consultant focused exactly on understanding my needs and answered only what I was curious about appropriately and smoothly. No recommendations at all, and when I asked about my biggest concern, whether I needed canthoplasty, she very coolly answered, “I don’t think you need it!?” lol As I said above, the director felt the most like a doctor. To be honest, I think I liked the line from clinic 1 slightly more, but he explained the surgical plan very concretely, even drawing pictures to show how the surgery would be carried out. He seemed to have the same direction as the director at clinic 1, and I felt like he would also suit me well. He didn’t try many different lines, but he seemed to identify what would suit me and what I wanted, and made about two lines..? I think (Clinics 1 and 3 really come down to preference! I think the difference is whether you focus on the place that shows more expertise, or the place that shows design-like aesthetic details more thoroughly. I liked both.) The consultant was also extremely kind during the consultation, but at the end she very coolly let me go without lingering, saying to contact them if I decided.. What is this coolness.. so stylish..
4. ㅅㅅ Plastic Surgery The place that made me go “huh?” the most.. First of all, the wait was the longest.. The consultant worked hard at sales, and the director gave a very cool consultation, but the line was set by the consultant, not the director, and the surgical direction was also set by the consultant, not the director.. That was the first thing that made me go “huh?” At all the previous clinics, the directors said my eye-opening strength wasn’t bad and that the result would likely be fine, but the consultant here said my eye-opening strength was weak and that I open my eyes using my forehead, which was the second “huh?” moment, and during the director’s consultation, he repeated exactly what the consultant had said.. didn’t separately try setting a line either.. lol And personally, I didn’t feel very satisfied with the answers to my questions, so that was the third “huh?” moment. More than anything, it didn’t match the direction I wanted at all, so I coolly passed! Compared with its reputation.. overall.. hahaha well.. I’ll just say it wasn’t a good fit for me!
