Before <before revision surgery> After <after surgery> In 2016, I had partial-incision double eyelid surgery with ptosis correction, plus medial/lateral canthoplasty. But at some point, my double eyelid line started coming undone, and even though I’d had ptosis correction, my eyes themselves started looking sleepy. My impression didn’t look defined, I looked droopy, and once the line loosened, it felt like my eyes looked swollen every day..;;
People around me also said after my first surgery, “Is this really surgery?” so I thought maybe it was just because it looked natural, but nope. It was just a failed result, and I wanted to open up my eyes more clearly and get an in-out incision line, so I decided on revision surgery.
Since it was revision surgery, I thought there would be no third surgery in my life, so I even downloaded apps and looked through tons of reviews. After going to several places like that, 1) Communication with the director was good 2) Specialized in revision surgery 3) Single-doctor clinic
For these reasons, I had the revision surgery done at the clinic I liked. At this clinic, they decided to make a definite incisional in-out line, correct the asymmetry, and even lower the outer corners of my eyes, and I only had revision medial/lateral canthoplasty on the left side. After surgery, other than feeling a little foreign-body sensation, I didn’t have severe pain or swelling, but since a lot had been done to my eyes, they became red and bruised, so I was really scared lol. I was scared exactly until the one-week mark, but when I went to the clinic on day 1 and day 7 and got swelling laser and bruise laser care, it went down a lot. I was seriously relieved. For a moment, I almost regretted the revision surgery;;
The swelling still needs a few more months, so taking that into account, after a month I was able to wear makeup, and I can see that the line has settled well, and the ptosis correction was done well, so now I don’t look like someone who’s sleepy all the time^^.. I look more defined, right?
Whether it’s a first surgery or revision surgery, you have to think carefully and visit a lot of places, but I feel like with revision surgery you end up looking around even more..ㅠ But if you go to too many places, the time spent worrying just gets longer, so set clear criteria and choose.
Whether the clinic handles a lot of revision surgeries.. whether they provide thorough aftercare.. in my case, I didn’t like large hospitals, so I think I mainly looked for private clinics, yep. Anyway, it’ll take a few months for the residual swelling to go down more, so I should diligently drink pumpkin juice.
