Current status: protruding eyes, thin skin, 5 years of eyelid tape, under-eye fat I’ve been wanting to break up with the glue for good, so I went around to 8 clinics What I told every clinic I wanted was a natural semi-out, non-incisional method, and under-eye fat repositioning I’ll write them in order: Sinsa -> Nonhyeon -> Sinnonhyeon -> Gangnam The prices are all event prices with review participation!
1. [Sinsa] ㄹㅎ-ㄱㅈㅇ • Recommended: non-incisional (in-out)+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: in the low-to-mid 1 million KRW range (because no canthoplasty) The interior was clean and comfortable. Even at 10 a.m., there were a lot of people. Doctor: To do semi-out, the front part needs to be opened up, but since my interpupillary distance is not wide, if I do canthoplasty I’ll look crowded, so I should set it as an in-line shape without canthoplasty. My thoughts: I had high expectations for ㄹㅎ, but was a bit disappointed when they said semi-out wasn’t possible. Other clinics said it could be done with upper canthoplasty.. I also didn’t particularly like the line they drew. Since I wanted to slightly improve my epicanthal fold (not severe) and have semi-out, I ruled this one out.
2. [Sinsa] ㅇㅍ-ㄴㅇㅈ • Recommended: non-incisional (semi-out)+upper canthoplasty+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: under 2 million KRW The interior was new and comfortable. They gave me swelling shots and laser treatment. 1-year aftercare. (-> If a clinic note doesn’t mention swelling care and aftercare, it’s because I forgot to ask.) Doctor: If you do upper canthoplasty, semi-out is possible. If you do inner canthoplasty, it looks crowded, so you just need to slightly open the line with upper canthoplasty. My thoughts: They drew the line several times and looked at it carefully. They answered my questions kindly, and I liked the line. It seemed like they were trying to reflect my preferred eye shape as much as possible.
3. [Nonhyeon] ㅋㄹㅁ-ㄱㅈㅎ • Recommended: non-incisional (in-out)+ptosis correction+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: mid-2 million KRW range Swelling laser available. 2-year aftercare. It was morning, but I was the only person there. I didn’t meet with the coordinator first and went straight to the doctor, but maybe the two of them weren’t communicating, because the doctor briefly left and came back. It felt like the communication was off. Since there were no people, the consultation was over incredibly fast. Doctor: Since canthoplasty can make the eyes look crowded, he recommended in-out. He said ptosis correction with buried-suture double eyelid surgery is necessary not just for opening the eyes better, but also to keep the double eyelids from loosening, so ptosis correction is needed. My thoughts: I don’t use my eyebrows to open my eyes and I don’t like the look of eyes being forced open, so I have no intention of doing ptosis correction. Among the 8 clinics, this was the only one that strongly emphasized ptosis correction. I also didn’t really like the in-out line they drew, so I ruled it out.
4. [Sinnonhyeon] ㅂ-ㄱㅈㅁ • Recommended: non-incisional (semi-out)+upper canthoplasty+(ptosis correction)+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: under 2 million KRW excluding ptosis correction One round of swelling laser. 1-year aftercare. Doctor: If you do upper canthoplasty, semi-out is possible. My thoughts: The doctor didn’t mention ptosis correction during the consultation, but it was written on the consultation chart, so when I was told it was optional and not mandatory, I said I wouldn’t do it. The line they drew was not bad, but it wasn’t something I loved 100%, and there were many other candidates, so I ruled this one out.
5. [Sinnonhyeon] ㄸㅋ-ㅎㅅㅇ • Recommended: non-incisional (semi-out)+upper canthoplasty+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: in the mid-1 million KRW range (cheapest) Doctor: If you do upper canthoplasty, semi-out is possible. They pursue a natural look. My thoughts: Along with ㅇㅍ, this was one of the places that spent the longest time examining me carefully and answering kindly. They adjusted the line several times so it would go in the direction I wanted. I liked the consultation, the line, and the price, but since the doctor seemed quite young, I worried about experience and reviews. The head doctor of this clinic is not on that event price.
6. [Sinnonhyeon] ㄷㄹㅅ-ㅎㅅㅈ • Recommended: non-incisional (semi-out)+oblique canthoplasty+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: under 2 million KRW Doctor: If you do canthoplasty together, semi-out is possible. I personally like protruding eyes because no matter what you do, the effect is big. The line can be made like the photo I showed (a pretty, moon-shaped eye). My thoughts: First of all, among all the doctors, this one picked up what I wanted the fastest and drew the line accordingly. After I arrived, I had to wait more than an hour because the doctor was in surgery at the time (I was so bored and tired then), and the time I spent with the doctor was very short, but the consultation itself was clear and I liked the line, so I left a 50,000 KRW deposit. Here, they didn’t call it upper canthoplasty but oblique canthoplasty, so they charged more for the canthoplasty part than other places. Still, the total was relatively affordable.
7. [Sinnonhyeon] ㅇㅇㄷ-ㄱㄷㅎ • Recommended: non-incisional (semi-out)+upper canthoplasty+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: under 3 million KRW (the most expensive). Consultation fee: 5,000 KRW. Doctor: If you do upper canthoplasty, semi-out is possible. My thoughts: The doctor never smiled and was extremely aloof, but the explanation was surprisingly detailed. They used a lot of visuals, such as drawing an eyeball diagram or showing before-and-after photos, and gave a good overall explanation of the surgery, not just the line. I tried some small talk, saying they draw well, but they just said, “Ah, yes..” and immediately went back to surgery-related talk lol Overall it was fine, but it was way over my budget, so I ruled it out.
8. [Gangnam] ㄷㅇㅇ-ㅂㅁㅅ • Recommended: non-incisional (in-out)+under-eye fat repositioning • Price: 2 million KRW (2.4 million KRW if canthoplasty is added) I wanted to request Dr. ㅊㅈㅎ, but the coordinator rushed out, so I couldn’t choose. Doctor: To do semi-out, the line has to be set quite high, so with a low line only in-out is possible. He advised against canthoplasty because it would make the eyes look crowded toward the center. My thoughts: I showed the line I usually make with eyelid tape and asked if I could have that, but he said that isn’t surgery, it’s eyelid tape, so if I want that line I should keep using eyelid tape forever;; I thought it was perfectly reasonable to ask questions, but he answered in such a sarcastic way that I was like, what was that about? The line he drew was way too thick and harsh, so I didn’t like it.. After the consultation, I looked up reviews and the reviews themselves weren’t bad, but I still wondered if there was any need to talk like that regardless of skill. He drew the line a few times, emphasized that semi-out wasn’t possible, and left. I know they’re busy because it’s a large clinic, but overall it had a rushed, factory-like feel.
I went around 8 clinics over two days, with a 2-hour gap each time. I’m the cautious type, so I did go around a lot, but what do you think of this clinic-hopping review? Right now I’m torn between ㅇㅍ, ㄸㅋ, and ㄷㄹㅅ.
